Too costly to be useful most of the time, but hilarious when it actually gets played. Instant speed adds to the fun.

this card can be imprinted onto spellbinder ^_^ in a blue deck it is incredibly deadly
sometimes allowing a turn 4-5 kill, this is the only red card you need, the point is never to cast this but to get it imprinted on the spellbinder as fast as possible attack with it equiped to an unblockable creature such as phantom warrior and win while protecting your new uberweapon with counter magic.
Since it's an instant, you can use Braid of Fire mana for it.

For a red deck, this is pretty much "resolve and win". Very expensive, but hell, there are far more egregious examples of high-cost red spells that never see play; at least this one deals 10 damage to the dome.
Great card in casual EDH, where in the end game, mana to fork it a couple of times shouldn't be a problem. Having a Furnace of Rath or Fire Servant would be icing.

@Maraxas-of-Keld: I actually run an awesome Spellweaver Volute deck with this as the kill spell. Wind itself, Opportunity, and Inferno all go on the Volute. Careful Study and Faithless Looting help me get the cards I need into my 'yard. And Preordain+friends all help make the deck run smoothly (also they set off the volute).

Spellbinder is a great idea.
