This guy should be awesome in limited, but it still makes me sad they removed combat damage from the stack.

This guy is your morbid enabler.

A great, great way to get rid of your creatures. The ability is cheap and comes with the added benefit of extra life and the guy it comes on is reasonably costed as well.

I've always liked sac engines, while the 1 colorless is annoying it's not way too high. The effect is nice too, in the right deck it can give you tons of life when you need them.

Anyone else seeing Green/Black as the most comboriffic duo in Innistrad? Combine with Tree of Redemption. Also turns your creatures into explosives if you have a Sanguine Bond out, so that's another point in this card's favor. This guy could be one hell of a sac outlet, depending on what the rest of the block holds.

At the pre-release i actually did steal a tree of redemption and sac it using this. Totally made my day.

i understand that it's ability is like that of diamond valley. but this card ain't no diamond valley. granted, there are some neat instant and combat tricks you can still pull with it, but at the end of the day it's still a 1/1 for 1B that demands you sacrifice a creature for it to do anything.

I had this with Skirsdag High Priest and Village Bell-Ringer at prerelease. One mana for four life and a 5/5 flying demon? Yes.
BG looks pretty damn fun i gotta say
get Gutter Grime out there, then tap all your Llanowar Elves or Birds of Paradise for free mana and sac them.
not to mention you can bring in Reassembling Skeletons if you want to. which you do XD
gonna need to call the ghostbusters to clean up that mess

The demon Griselbrand dared to stand against Avacyn, earning him the loathing of thousands and the admiration of a few.
Avacyn, the World Asunder {13} Creature- Eldrazi (mythic) When you cast Avacyn, the World Asunder, destroy all nonland permanents. Trample, Annihilator 5 13/13
Shocking Twist #1; Awesome! Reusing Shocking Twist #1; Absolutely Hilarious! Saves design space! Makes demons seem like good guys! :D
I used this with Reassembling Skeleton... repeatedly... it actually worked awesome.
I just used this with Platinum Angel... I got back up to four and my opponent only had four, and I had Sanguine Bond out. Do the math.

Getting tired of consistently losing to aggro decks turn 5 in my // Sacrifice deck, I added this guy in to see if it would help. In a 10 turn attrition war, I slowly beat my friend who was rapidly attaining elephants and had several Pelakka Wurms out, ending at one life. I must have gained twenty-some life thanks to this BAMF!

Griselbrand clerics are demon worshipers. Ironically enough, you can sacrifice pesky demons like Archdemon of Greed and other life eating demons if they become a threat to your survival.

After you declare blockers, you can use him to sac one of your chump blockers that would have died anyway. The attacker is still blocked. (Of course this doesn't work against trampling.) This also stops lifelinking and anything that triggers from combat damage being dealt.

This will be replacing Proper Burial in my reanimate EDH deck. Not only is the ability very cheap, it enables the sacrificing as well unlike Proper Burial. It's also much easier to get back a creature that's CMC is 2, than an enchantment that's CMC is 4.

This guy is amazing. I didn't get him except for two reasons: -Sacrifice Outlet (I wanted Treacherous Pit-Dweller in the deck, he didn't make the cut lol) -Cleric
In a pinch I can sac any human to flip the demon*, and gain 9 life. For 1 mana. Whenever I create a demon, I can attack next turn, pay 1, gain 5 life, and then put out the same untapped 5/5. Turns every kill spell into something like "Pay {1}, turn that spell into a backwards swords to plowshares"
*Note: his ability is a sorcery speed ability.
I thought the life-gain was going to be useless, but it comes in such huge gobs (even when you do it response to a board wipe, you gain like.. 10 life) that he's turning out to make the deck. Seriously, run him if you have toughness 2 or greater (probably everywhere!) and you'll be pleasantly surprised to find your life total screams upwards. If they have to use removal on him, all the better.

This was in my first ever deck (the Innistrad intro pack). It is one of the reasons I became a massive fan of magic, and in my opinion it is one of the best designed cards of all time.

4: Two titan activations, an attack for 6, and 6 life, per turn.
Or get this going with Reassembling Skeletons and Skirsdag High Priest, with a Lumberknot on the board just for s&g.

Turns out that him, Skirsdag High Priest, and ravenous demon are big pals! (among my other clerics..)
