hmmm...for 4 colourless I can make my Wurms all +2/+0 and they still remain just as offensive normally while blocking. Some of these new pups seem to forget that not all colours (in MTG) are equal. I'd love to see this in a pure white deck due to their naturally high defense.

"Vibrating" Sphere? What's up with that eh? I don't know if I want to know.

I love obscure cards like this that have strange effects that normally wouldn't be useful, but there's that one deck type out there where that card becomes really advantageous.
My first idea for making use of this card would be an otherwise creature-less red deck with Ball Lightning, Lightning Elemental and other haste creatures.
Run 4, and your Ball Lightning now swings for as much as 14 for 3 red.

While not an amazing combo, you used to be able to tap this to turn it off before your turn was up. If this card was worth using at all, they should have kept the 'must be untapped' condition like they did on Howling Mine.

This is from era when artifacts didn't work when tapped(1). So this should have errata that turns it off if it's untapped.

(1) The rule originally was that poly and continous artifacts don't work while tapped. Then in Revised they removed the distinction between mono, poly and continous artifacts and screwd up. Now the rule was that artifacts didn't work when tapped, so tapped Mana Vault didn't damage you and couldn't be untapped. No, they said those with tap symbol works while tapped.

It would have been much easier to keep the mono, poly and continous artifact distinction.

Don't fix what isn't broken.

4 CC should be enough to get +2/+0 all the time.

Zedruu, the Greathearted. Not as funny as Bronze Bombshell, but worth the continuous drawdown on opponents power/toughness. Definitely kills more weenies than Curse of Death's Hold.

strange concept in terms of flavor, and extremely circumstantial ability. 1/5, and only that because trying to figure out what this card actually IS seems kind've fun.

To me, that toughness drain is just too much for this to be generally applicable; even fatty creatures will become more vulnerable to burn and such, so the loss of defense is guaranteed to hurt, and usually more so than gain of offense.
