Epic lawlz with Painter's Servant. At that point Crosis is basically a cheaper Nicol Bolas...but nothing is better than Nicol Bolas. Ever.

Actually in a couple ways he is better than nicol bolas.
He's cheaper to play, requires less color fixing, and the 3 mana continuous cost (for crosis, the hit-player payment, for nicol the upkeep) is less color-intensive.
Sure, you won't hit EVERY card in their hand most times, but either play persecute or just have a general idea of what their most common color is, and you'll do enough.

When i was younger i traded a lot of cards to get this guy, only for him to get washed in my pants pocket alongside several other black legends. Although i won't be able to trade him, i can still use him in a deck, via proxies.

@ Nnoitra *** card to reanimate. By the time you have enough mana to pay for his ability, you will either a) have lost the game to a combo deck, or b) have lost card advantage and this card through return, destruction, or exile to a control deck and will now be unable to play anything that will get you anywhere close to winning for the rest of the game.

Of the 3 cycles of Legendary 3-colored Dragons (The Elders, the Primordials, and the Color-Shifted), we have had 10 reprinted. Missing only Dromar and 4 of the Elders. I don't think the Elders have much of a chance at Reprint now that Vaevictis Asmadi has failed to appear in From the Vault: Legends, which is sad :/
Primordial Dragon EDH Review 3/5: Crosis, the Purger
Crosis' most important job as an EDH General is to be as unlike a Nicol Bolas deck as its possible to be while remaining in the exact same color identity of a big greifing Dragon. Good luck at that, lol. Actually, just like the other Primordials (and this is why I absolutely love them for EDH), it's right in Crosis' main ability how to distinguish him: Make his deck care about colors a lot. Include the best Black and Red hate spells, like Deathmark and . You might even want to borrow a few of the Blue spells that change colors we looked at for Dromar's Deck. (Moonlace, anyone? No?)
We want to control the hand, sure, and some cards like Thought Hemorrhage might not be amiss, but we DEFINITELY don't want to use Cruel Ultimatum, or else we'll be hard pressed to explain the difference between Crosis and Nicol Bolas, and why aren't we just using the guy that Mind Twists ?
Crosis's Charm, Crosis's Attendant, and Crosis's Lair are cards you probably don't want to use in Nicol Bolas decks (because there's honestly better) but should certainly be on your radar for an awesome-flavored Invasion Dragon list. Some important questions to answer for building Theme Decks for Primordial Star EDH:
Which Black cards does Darigaaz get? Which Black cards does Crosis get? Which Black cards does Dromar get?
Black, I feel, is the color with more 'staples' for EDH than any other, because of some particular efficient "Doom" cards like Damnation and of course the controversial cornucopia of Tutors. While it's something to consider for all the colors of all the Dragons, I think that Rith's and Treva's decks for example naturally steer themselves to look different from each other despite two shared colors, whereas the functionality and power of some black cards (Necropotence, looking at you) might tempt you to put them in all three decks of that color. I would recommend that Dromar get the Tutors, Darigaaz get the Graveyard (like Living Death and maybe Golgari Thug), while Crosis should get the truly HaXXors feeling cards: Thought Hemmorhage is a good one that feels spiteful and can hit for a lot of damage in EDH, Beacon of Unrest and Black Sun's Zenith are cruelly recursible, and Syphon Life is plain brutal against 4 other opponents.
I want to try steer the idea of Primordial Dragon decks towards as much diversity as possible, but the truth is it's pretty difficult to tell which Black Dragon should get which Black cards, and it goes on gut instinct more than strict rules- but DO try to make rules for yourself, and follow them, so that you don't wind up with Demonic Tutor, Buried Alive and Rune-Scarred Demon in all 3 lists.
I guess starting out building a Nicol Bolas EDH deck, and then taking out certain CLEARLY Bolas-flavored cards (Gem of Becoming, Cruel Ultimatum) is what I would do for Crosis.
For the "Captain" Legendary creature- the card that I can switch out with the Legendary and keep the 99 exactly the same- I would suggest Lord of Tresserhorn for Crosis because he's a giant axe-murderer, and Black, Blue, and Red should give you enough control elements that he doesn't hurt you too much without hurting your opponents too. If you think Lord of Tresserhorn isn't something to Lord of Shoehorn in, then Sol'Kanar the Swamp King is another one.
Thraximundar feels dumb, but maybe I'm way off-base on that. Grixis-flavored is not automatically Bolas-flavored, so feel free to try him out, but if he ends up being so much more powerful than your Dragon that you never want to run the deck as a Crosis Deck- obviously that would be a problem.

Crosis is the best of the Primeval Dragons;
Not only does he kick your mono-colored candy ass to the curb, he is also Bros-For-Life with The Invincible Iron Man .

I played him in a 5 color casual deck as a teenager, and sure as shit, when this guy hit the board, I never lost a game. 5/5 on nostalgia alone, and still a pretty good card.
