Almost feel bad winning when using this card. Almost.

one of my favorite things to do on the first turn: swamp, dark ritual x3, mind twist.

The only card in Type1 that was banned outright that isn't physical movement (Chaos Orb) or Ante.
^ Should add that it was first Restricted, then banned around 1996, and now isn't banned or restricted in Type1.

There is nothing quite like playing a full hand against an empty one. This card, by itself, is merciless.
Indeed, you can almost feel bad after beating someone when this has been used on them, but if you're playing a vintage format they ought to have something wicked in store for you anyways.

Very brutal card. Just be carefull of thouse few old cards that fight back when their discarded like Guerrilla Tactics to name one.

This card is just flat out powerful, though few things will ever confound an opponent as much as playing a Mind Twist on yourself.

The fact that they are random discards is even more cruel... yes, that includes even when you use it to knock out your opponent's entire hand.

Horrifying card with any meaningful mana acceleration.

if you play mind twist on yourself you should have played one with nothing. but not neccessarily since you might situationally need to do such a thing. I've played diabolic edict on myself before

@nathanfl: 5 cards for 7? I guess that's better than 5 for 5, but better to play Hymn to Tourach, Blackmail, or Raven's Crime in those earlier turns, IMO. Then bop them with this on turn three or four.

I'm surprised this made it all the way to fourth edition.

4th Edition is the only Mind Twist that breaks a 4.9 Gatherer rating. interesting.

Don't worry. The discard isn't totally random. I'll just pump enough mana in it to wreck your hand.

Why, oh why did I sell mine along with my Hymns to Tourach and my Racks? ):

@Okuu-chan: Orin tricked you?
This is a classic I used to hate with passion, along with the Hymn and loved almost as vigorously. I need to whip up a discard deck again.

One day they will unban this in Legacy, and my playset and I will be ready.
