I saw someone have this out, and bomb 8 artifacts with a Creeping Corrosion at pre-release, yeowch.
Great in a Liquimetal CoatingViashino Heretic Destroy deck. Actually I recant that, AMAZING in that deck. Destroy any permanent, deal damage to them = to the mana cost, & on top of it all just chuck on an extra 2 damage.

Despite being in an artifact-heavy block, MBS has a ton of overcosted artifacts like this, myr turbine, phychosis crawler,knowledge pool and several others that do nothing impressive despite their mana cost.
This is awful even in Limited, it's only playable if you're light on artifacts and your opponent is heavy on them, and your deck is aggressive and non-infect.
Why do they make these kinds of cards, this card is useless in every situation, who on earth wants to open this in a booster?
There are two major problems that I see with this card: 1) It's useless againt the enemy unless their deck happens to have a lot of artifacts in it. And you usually won't know that ahead of time. 2) If you do decide to use this card in one of your decks, you'd better not plan on using any other artifacts besides this one.
i have nightmares of buying a fat pack and getting nothing but these for my rares.

Liquimetal coating land destruction decks can really make a lot of use for this gem since the land is still counted as an artifact as it hits the grave. The same thing applies about viridian reveal

@busdude Psychosis Crawler certainly doesn't do "nothing" as you say, and I think it's fine at 5 mana. Works fantastically with Brainstorms among other draw cards in one of my decks.

This is so much better than cards at a rank of 2 stars, this is a 3 star card at least, Its an absolute beast in limited and has a tendency to go unnoticed until to late. 3/5 Stars

So underwhelming. Hell, this could have said "2 damage to target player" or had "tap: target permanent becomes an artifact until end of turn" and still not been ridiculous.
