the plus to this guy is he gives -1/-1 and another -1/-1 for each zombie that comes after him. if he comes out fast he can kill a lot of creatures. and since a lot of decks use 1/1 wimps as fodder/mana source/minor damage, this guy is brilliant.

ability is like allys but for zombies!

@applecorn
some allys have non counter abilitys, such as hagra diabolist or murasa pyromancer. I could definitally see an ally with the same ability, but like i said, for allies.

A bit on the expensive side, but that ability can be a game changer in casual play.

Like duh! A properly constructed Zombie deck with all it's creatures out should deal over 100 damage in a single turn. But this would mean you're at the games like 15th or so turn, which seldom happens.

For anyone playing Tribal Zombies, just use Buried Alives to drop 3 Ghouls and a couple of other Zombies into the graveyard and stall until turn 5. Then drop a Living Death and your Ghouls come back giving each non-Zombie -1/-1 for each Ghoul. 3 Ghouls multipled by 3 triggers each equals -9/-9.

Tombstone Stairwell + Vengeful Dead

@powerdude
Allies are better, in the fact that the +1/+1 counters stay. These only last one turn.

Ability doesn't deal damage and doesn't target, which makes it a great way to deal with creatures with protection from black if you can throw the Zombies out fast enough. Obviously shines against weenie decks.

This guy is an SOB with Undead Alchemist. Especially in casual multiplayer. Just swing hard on the player with the fewest blockers and then wipe the board with all the tokens you acquire from it... then try to find new friends...

You want to make the Gravecrawler/Grimgrin/Rooftop Storm combo any stupider?

Why not clear the board of everything except your own things?

I had a friend who kept board wiping my zombies until she got Avacyn, Angel of Hope out.

Next turn Avacyn was on the receiving end of a zombie apocalypse with -30/-30 on the board.

To add insult to injury I cast Rise From the Grave on her.

The helvault had opened. Avacyn was free. The zombies ate her. She joined them.

Screw the canon ending. This is how the Block should have ended.

lmao

I love this card. I made a pauper EDH deck with it as the commander, but my friend told me to switch the commander because he thinks it's too mean. It's pretty much your only option for board wiping for pauper EDH. Kind of scary.

This is also a house in my zombie horde deck. If you can't get rid of it, it is quickly game over. Even if it doesn't kill your giant 6/6, it makes it a 2/2 (possibly) for the turn so you can't even block anything. Absolutely brutal. It also makes mass reanimation into a 1-sided board wipe.

I enjoy using this card with army of the damned. it WILL clear the field of all but the most monstrous of creatures

I played this guy with a Rooftop Storm and Null Profusion out. Along without about ten other zombies played on the same turn, it was a completely one-sided board wipe.

Want to unleash an avalanche of death? Drop this guy after you've played Grave Betrayal! Drop him and give some some white weenies -1/-1. They die and come back under your control as zombies. Now all creatures get -3/-3. Something else dies and the rest get -4/-4. Repeat until you have completely shifted the board to your control.

It's a fun card, but it doesn't make much sense. There are many things in Magic that don't have a nose, so how are they affected by this zombie's ability?
