Dude it doesn't have flash, or haste for that matter

Good effect, good art, lousy speed. it needs haste or flash.

Agreed, this could have been a real competitor in control decks if it had haste or flash. Would have been real nice against Baneslayer.

Haste probably wouldn't make sense considering it's a blue card. And giving it flash wouldn't make it that much better if it didn't have haste as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in order to use its ability, it has to survive combat. Right?
Omniance

It can use it's ability after blockers are declared, but before combat damage is dealt. So regardless of what it's blocking, even if it's a creature with deathtouch, this thing can still pull off it's ability.

Not a bad card, but not great either. Would have been nice if it was a bit bigger, maybe 0/5 or if it put the blocked creature on the bottom of the library instead of shuffled in.

Two tricks Gomazoa has up it's sleeve that you can have fun with: Valor Made Real makes that obnoxious elf army vanish. And if they try to kill it, you can use the ability outside of combat to dodge the vast majority of removal effects. Plus, come on, people, we need Jellyfish in tribal!

Just about the most useful defensive card; for just 3 mana. My opponents now know not to attack me unless they have some ability/sorcery in tow... Flying 9/9 you say? Muhaha.

This guy does his job very well. He won't surprise the enemy, and they can destroy him with spells, but he could stop an indestructible 20/20 flying trampling double-striker, or some other ridiculous finisher... At least after turn 4.

I had an interesting experience against a Gomazoa in planechase... we were on Lethe Lake, and both my opponent and I were down to barely any cards in our graveyard. All my removal was in the graveyard at that point, but my opponent was going to be the first to empty his. That is, until, at the end of my turns he would use Goma's ability to put it back in the library, then redraw it, ensuring he didn't lose from being unable to draw. Of course, not having any removal left and not being close enough to kill range, I was doomed to exhaust my cards first.

*I wouldn't have 4 of these in a deck ( unless you don't have any good defenders) but most definitely 2 and maybe 3 depending on the strength of your opponent.

Gomazoa best friend is Mind funeral. the opponent remove the top library until they removed 4 land, so adding one annoying attacking monster from the battle on the library will send one more card to the graveyard (unless that creature is a land as well like treetop village or (spoiler) --> Celestial Colonnade

I love this card. It's cheap to play, has an awesome ability and is still a 0/3 flying wall to boot.
I don't understand people saying this card needs haste. How is haste going to help a card with defender?

@ PG13_2: It need haste to use it's ability for the next opponent turn
I think 2U => 0/3 flying is not bad, and it also protect from the instant that enlarge creature For a battle that opponent attack with 2/2 flying and I block it by Gomazoa, if he play a instant that +2/+0 to that creature, I can use Gomazoa's ability to "leave" with that creature together. Also I think the opponent will not kill a creature that can "escape" to library.
Also opponent's large creature will not attack if Gomazoa is in play.
Thanks for JaxsonBateman's sharing that it is also anti-milling...

I think people miss the point of this card... it isn't designed to be a massive stopper like Wall of Denial. It basically gives you a flying defender who can instantly bounce any attacking creature that it can block... It is pretty awesome.
Sure, you can drop something bigger like Wall of Denial, but Gomazoa will punt a giant creature like an Eldrazi from the board... Effects like Umbras, indestructable, combat boosts, etc are all worthless against this.
It can also save itself from removal by "hiding" in your deck, so if an opponent tries to hit it with a lightning bolt, it will dissapear.
Incredibly useful creature!

Don't underestimate the ability to shuffle your library at any time as well. For instance if you Ponder or use Halimar Depths and don't find what you're looking for. Anything that deals with Eldrazi and Baneslayer is a friend of mine.

Love it. Have a ability that goes through shroud. Can activate before combat damage is dealt to stop tramplers/lifelinkers. Gets through indestructibility/regneration. (this thing can kill Marit Lage (see dark depths))
As mentioned, the summoning sickness is quite a big letdown though.

why is it that most magic jellyfish have names that end in "zoa"? we've got gomazoa, Esperzoa, and Avizoa.

My only complaint is trying to give Gomazoa the ability to block extra creatures. Every card that does it is either "block one more creature" or a single-turn effect. Apart from that, though, it's a fairly solid defending card.

Give this guy shroud and you can send things back to your opponents library and keep your flying wall not bad at all...
Because Jellyfish are scientifically called Medusozoa. Each group is ---Zoa.

Echo Circlet may be the only consistant way to get it to block multiple creatures for its ability, but I've found some success with cloning it via Cryptoplasm as well. What's worse than 4 Gomazoas? 4 more cloned up that can all block 2 at once! Especially since the equiptment stays on the field and is cheap to equipt. Very nice in my mil deck, since when their creature gets shuffled, it's 50-50 that they'll lose it to mil rather than redraw it anyway. And damn is it ever a nice lure for Lightning Bolt... good thing we blues have Redirect, Deprive, Negate, Turn Aside, Dispel... or even Unsummon, really. The lack of haste serves as a great mindgame if you have the mana and cards to defend it, in any case.

Really sweet ability. This could be awesome in a Necrotic Ooze deck along with Myr Propagator. Make a token ooze, untap ooze with its Soliton ability, block a threat, make threat go away. You still have oozes that do everything.

@tfc_generalKMK: Shroud won't affect Gomazoa's ability, because Gomazoa's ability does not target itself. In fact, Gomazoa's ability targets nothing at all, so it can even be used against shroud/hexproof creatures.
