Auras without the risk of card disadvantage, yet with an early harvest each combat. These Umbras make me smile.

The suggestions of Omnath, Locus of Mana and Hellkite Charger with this send chills ran up and down my spine. Like, literally. Brilliance.

Hello friend of omnath, I welcome thee. I think the major point of this card is to let you do two things, one is that you can now aggro with an omnath. Omnath + canopy cover and this card can pretty much end the game by turn 5 or 6. On top of that, what better way to cast eldrazi? They don't care what color you use, so if you stack up mana with omnath you can be playing your emrakul or your it that betrays super early. Not only that, but you get a card that doesn't die to day of judgement and can't be targeted, totally nuts when you think about it.

It wont win you every game, but it works so nicely in an enchantment deck, with some eldrazi thrown in to beat down.

Would this stop terminate? I notice that it removes damage, but does it stop damageless destruction?

nothing's cooler than an obese bear

@Hibron, yes, because it says instead, which replaces the destroy effect. The remove damage clause is there to prevent the lethal damage from killing it again before the end step. The really nice thing about the auras is that they don't regenerate the creature, so terror doesn't work. The O-ring, PtE, or Unmake are a few of your limited options. Or just bounce the thing.

so if im reading this right the lands would untap before damage being dealt correct? thus if i had omnath on the field i could enchant him, attack with him, untap the mana, retap the mana to pump him up some more, and then have damage be dealt, correct?

Yo dawg I herd you liked bears so I put a bear in your bear so you can maul while you maul

@ Carbunc
Yep, that's exactly what happens. 'When this creature attacks...' abilities happen as soon as you tap to attack with it. Same as Annihilator on the Eldrazi. This is exactly what makes this with Omnath so super-silly.

So if I have a Bear Umbra on 2 of my creatures and attack with both, do I get to untap my lands, use them, then untap and use them again?
Artscrafter
★★★☆☆ (3.5/5.0) (3 votes)
@BatChew: Yes, if you have this on two of your creatures and attack with both, you can tap your lands between activations. Both land-untap triggers hit the stack simultaneously, and you have the opportunity to tap lands and do anything at instant speed after the first ability resolves but before the second one does. So feel free to pump Omnath or use the mana to play multiple instants or abilities or just float it for a really big X-cost instant after the second trigger hits.

Oh the things we can do
with umbras like these
oh the places we'll go
when our opponent's on their knees

We'll cheatyface and counterspell
and take the life total down to one
and then we'll play the lightning bolt
until the game is won!

Why stop with just untapping all of your lands once? See how many uses you can get out of Waves of Aggression when your mana refills everytime you attack. Still got to work out how to fill your hand with land cards (without losing any from the board). Add Sword of Feast and Famine for massive overkill.

@TPmanW run Aggravated Assault for infinite attack phases and infinite mana, however the mana is still limited to how much you can use per phase. aggravated assault also runs well with Liege of the Tangle or anything that turns all lands into creatures to create infinite mana in one phase. I have an EDH deck that runs all of this with child of alara as the general, and also gives him double strike.

This is such an amazing underrated/underpriced rare that I have 4 of them.

The most amazing thing is that it is such a Green card: Improve a creatures power/toughness, and somehow increase your mana pool. The Totem Armor ability, however, seems more White than Green, but I'm not going to start complaining. It's like if you're complaining about Persist being worse than the (stupid) Undying ability.

Omnath, Lotus of Mana is perhaps the second best creature to attach this to (next to Hellkite Charger), seeing as they are from the same block (as well as his mana shenanigans). You attach to him, tap all your green mana, attack (when you're able), and then tap all your green mana again.

There really isn't any problems here. It protects your creature from dying to something like Wrath of God (because it's not really regenerating), and fits perfectly in the Rafiq of the Many Voltron EDH deck.

Besides Eldrazi Con***ion, it's perhaps the second-most necessary Aura to have in that deck (arguably, Angelic Destiny is better, but it's a $20 mythic rare in comparison to a $2 rare)

4 pages of comments and nobody mentioned the infinite number of attack turns you get with Aggravated assault?

1) Double total mana for instant spells
2) Dump mana into various abilities, then use as normal on 2nd main phase.
3) Cast on first main phase and then hold mana for counters / instant draw.
4) Cast on first main phase then cast again on 2nd main phase.
5) Gives relevant P/T boost while protecting your creature against removal.

5 reasons to give 5/5

Man, when I first read this card I was like:

"Enchanted creature gets WHAT?!"

And it's totem armor. For four mana. 5/5

Is this the card with the most quantity of Rulings or is there worse?
