I actually like this better than Predator Dragon because, considering you have enough goblins to devour, this will do damage right away to a target, without tapping, while the Predator Dragon has haste,so you may attack, and then cannot block.

I <3 Voracious Dragon. It's the perfect win condition for a hasty goblin/burn deck.
I play this a all goblin deck with a play set of boggart shenanigans that which adds 4 more damage every time you devour a goblin which lets you hit people out of the game very quickly

No one else finds this 5* for the art alone? I love goblins and their Magic predicaments :p

In freeform games, I like the idea of throwing in Tuktuk the Explorer, Squee, Quest for the Goblin Lord and a lot of create goblin spells and enchantments. Scarf Tuktuk and even if your opponent isn't killed by the huge multi-goblin fireball, he now has to worry about your new 5/5 (or higher; he may well be 7/5 if QFTGL is up and running) artifact creature.

I just love the fluffiness of the card. Jund dragons and goblins have a nice little "symbiotic" relationship going on where the dragons eat the goblins and the goblins do it willingly... makes me laugh

Get about 5 goblins out including about 2 Skirk Prospector play Brightstone Ritual You have 5 red mana now, now sac all your goblins to get 1 R mana each that's 10 mana, then play Rise of the Hobgoblins and kick for 8, next turn play Voracious Dragon, hit the play for 16. then play a goblin and Goblin Grenade him to death. Not that hard to pull off when you build a deck around it, it's very consistent.

it's really risky, but if you drop him late-ish game with ib halfheart, goblin tactician out, what you do is, tap all your mountains, sac em all while you have at least 5 floating R. Then get a ton of goblins and sac em all when he comes into play. Usually that's enough to kill em b/c of damage earlier in the game.

TK-1138, Predator Dragon is slightly better than Voracious Dragon. Voracious only has dv. 1 and does only damage with goblins devoured, and the damage is only once. But if your opponent has low life, and you have some goblins, Voracious is the better choice. They are both about even. But predator has haste.
@Elfie: No. This guy costs 3RR, while Predator Dragon costs 3RRR. Please learn what "strictly better" means.
Anyway, this guy is great. Five mana for a 4/4 flier is always good, and Red rarely gets fliers for this cheap.

4x Mudbutton Torchrunner + Voracious Dragon = 12 damage from the goblins entering the graveyard, 8 damage from the dragon devouring the four goblins, and an 8/8 flying dragon.

might even be better than mycoloth since its doesnt need protection. as long as it gets to pewpew for 2 pr goblin you're more than ok.
t1 rite of flame, warren instigator t2 hearthfirecharm:unblockable, siege-gang commander*2, brightstoneritual, voracious dragon: damage 24 opponent WTF???? still hasnt happened tho:P even tho the second siegegang can be a few other cards its still a 6 card combo...t3 a few times so far...

Yup. That's burning goblin bones he is spitting out.
It deals damage to target creature or player equal to twice the number of Goblins it devoured. All this makes me think of is: "BUUUUUUUUUUUUUURP!" By the way, do dragons burp fire?

@shotoku64 "BUUUUUUUUUUUUUURP!" Now THAT would have made great flavor text!
@Elife No, this dragon is MUCH better then Predator Dragon for goblin decks. x2 Goblin War Strike is more then enough to finish for goblins, comes out cheaper ((A big deal for a goblin deck)), and you can still deal damage if your dragon gets Doom Blade.

This card just got a LOT more brutal now that Krenko, Mob Boss is a thing. Let's look at a best case scenario where no Goblins die in five turns:
Turn 1, Goblin Guide, attack for 2. Turn 2, Krenko's Command/Dragon Fodder, attack for 2 again. Turn 3, Goblin Chieftain, attack for 9. Turn 4, Krenko, Mob Boss, make 5 more Goblins, attack for 19. Turn 5, make more Goblins with Krenko, bringing the Goblin total to 20 Goblins on the field, swing for 42 damage. Then cast Brightstone Ritual, generating 20 mana, and play Mudbutton Torchrunner, Goblin Arsonist, another Dragon Fodder/Krenko's Command, and whatever other Goblins you have in your hand, making sure you have AT LEAST 5 mana still up to cast Voracious Dragon to devour all Goblins, dealing 48 damage + 3 from the Torchrunner, + 1 from the Arsonist = 52 damage by the hands of Voracious Dragon.
In a best case scenario, you can ideally deal 126 damage to your opponent in five turns. Of course, it probably won't end up like that, but so long as you have Krenko out, you should be able to do more or less.

I run this in my Krenko edh. I one shotted the most threatening guy by sacing out about 35 goblins and sending all the damage his way lol. He wasn't happy with me xD. Eventually, I amassed a new goblin army and systematically took out everyone else xD

interesting idea, and a nice icing on the cake considering the cost ratio.

Turn 2 Dragon Fodder or 2 Goblin Guide, swing, 6 damage dealt.
Turn 3 Dragon Fodder or Goblin Guide or Goblin Chieftain, swing, 14 damage dealt.
Turn 4 Dragon Fodder x 2, swing, 22 damage dealt.
Turn 5 Swing, this, 16 + (7x2) + 22 damage dealt.
16+14+22 damage over 5 turns. 52 damage. Hell yeah. Anyone wanna check that?
