Hilarity will ensue every time this guy comes in, and sacrificing goblins for 4 damage teams up well with red's instants that deal damage. Kiss those blockers goodbye!

I'm glad this card wasn't printed in Ice Age back then (which mentionedhimonfivecards (he's on one from Coldsnap, too)), since in this case he certainly wouldn't look like this.
I wish the triggered ability would include himself though, but then again we wouldn't have this lovely flavor text. I'd also have liked him to be 3/3 or see the activated ability only requiring one Mountain to sacrifice for one Goblin. It's just because Ib appears to have a minor flaw to me... But what the hell! Artwork and flavor text should even that out. He's really playable nonetheless.

One of the many cards which expound upon the nature of Goblins in Dominia, where Ib is one of the few intelligent goblins...

Between Jaya Ballard and Ib Halfheart, Ice Age-era flavour text was some of my favourite - certainly when I was starting out. Time Spiral was just awesome for printing Legendary Creatures to finally give cards to these unseen speakers.
Ib Halfheart is just phenomenal. I love that they printed another Legendary Goblin; I love his expression (what is the opposite of cross-eyed?); and his abilities are extremely flavourful. ...well, okay, his first ability is extremely flavourful. I'm not too sure how to account for his second one...
I'm glad that they did not make him too powerful, quite frankly, because as much as I love the little guys, a goblin tactician should not be especially tactful.

the other day I played with legacy goblins vs a knight deck and with all their first striking it was almost always a sure loss. Thinking this can be a good sideboard against them, any thougts?

This card is great! You don't need many mountains, since Goblin Grenade costs only ...

This card represents a character displaced from Ice Age block, though his abilities reference two Mercadian Masques cards: Mogg Alarm and Arms Dealer.
