an absolutely fabolous Land for a Wizards Deck.

Don't miss the synergy the land with Spellstutter Sprite, Vendillion Clique, Glen Elendra Archmage, Venser, Shaper Savant or any other Wizard.

You don't see tribal lands these days. Except those effin Eldrazi.

What's the flavor here? Is it some kind of fallback in case the slivers get out of hand?

Sees play in Legacy U/W Stoneblade decks, where it interacts wonderfully with Vendilion Clique and Spellstutter Sprite.

Snapcaster gets released and this thing's price goes through the roof. Not surprising, though. The synergy between the two is astounding.

I would to use it to protect my Riku of Two Reflections, but as BlackFlameAshura said its price went through the roof.

Put Mangara of Corondor's ability on the stack, then return him to your hand. Next turn do it again. Then next turn... you get the idea.

Excellent card if your commander is a Wizard! Melek, Izzet Paragon can be expensive to cast at 4{u}{r}, so protecting him is key. 1{u} is at least as cheap as a good bounce effect to keep his casting cost from going up.
