Awesome in a treefolk deck, doesn't cost much either

Good cards are good!
indestructible is powerful and if you manage 2 out (treefolk harbinger) then your side is nigh impenetrable!

This card is unbelievably good in a treefolk deck

I'm starting to think the Treefolk are overpowered. Don't get me wrong, I like them, I just think that Doran could have been the ultimate treefolk. This just seems a little unnecessary.
Man, lorwyn packed a treefolk tribe that was way outta hand. Bosk Banneret gets you Dauntless Dourbark on turn three, followed by this undercosted card on turn four. And all from the same set! Not to mention that both the Banneret and Treefolk Harbinger are pretty tough to kill sitting at */3, and just bloody impossible once you have one or two of these Protectors out.
Too good card is too good. :P (And it's not even clever! That's the part I hate the most!!!)

this is one of those times when you wish they had a "report abuse" button for the actual card.
lorwen treefolk are way too powerful a tribe. targeted destruction used to be the only way to get rid of them, and then they print this bad ass!
Keep in mind that, though this card doesn't make itself indestructible, it is still pretty hard to take out just by damage alone.

Cool lord for a very cool tribe. In fact, I think of all tribes in Lorwyn, the treefolk were the ones that I think came across most flavorful.

Why do they print cards like this? If they had made him a 4/4, he would still be awesome. But a vanilla 4/6 for 5 mana would have already been good, and then they go and make him a lord? How many other lords grant indestructible?

At least a reason to blow the dust away from your ironroot treefolks!

I'm surprised by the amount of people that think this is overpowered. D:
Sure, this guy would be way above the curve if it was an Elf lord or something (would still be expensive), but as a Treefolk the options for the rest of your deck are either Lorwyn treefolk (I don't think there are good ones outside the block, counting Shadowmoor) or maybe Conspiracy which is too impractical.
Want to hate Lorwyn block? Take a look at Bitterblossom or Vendilion Clique. Imperious Perfect, even Merfolk Reejerey. Those deserve it. This guy just makes a casual Treefolk deck viable, but far from overpowered.
Run with Kudzu if you want to never have friends again.

Nameless inversion in a Haakon deck is one of the few reliable ways I can think of that can stop a double Timber Protector

@achilleselbow:
These are the lords of indestructible:
- Avacyn, Angel of Hope (Technically not a lord, but should be mentioned) - Frontline Medic (all though the effect is not permanent) - Knight Exemplar (the only true lord that provides perma indestructible aside from Timber Protector) - Timber Protector (see above)
But as someone mentioned, the Timber Protector has a huge advantage over Knight Exemplar as he is resistant to bolts making him slightly better than the knight. All in all the Timber Protector screams board presence and is not to be taken lightly. 5/5 from me.

Easy to get out with Death, awesome to use with Life.
