I can get this thing up to a 20/20 easily and it can be a 5/5 on turn 3

I think I'll build a Treefolk deck. Let's see if I can find a decent finisher first though. What's this? Dauntless Dourbark hmmm...

The nice thing is that you can find this for only ${0}.{5}{0} ea. online.

You just got beaten by a plant deck. How's it feel?

Cause magic players need to think less about the decks they build... Great powercreep, wonderful strategy, intriguing card. Truly a shining example of how players should win a strategy based game.

Tribes take no deckbuilding talent, only money and an ability to search for cards by creature type.

My friends don't like playing against me since I got some of these guys : - / Probably a little too powerful. But fun nonetheless!

Creyn: I have the same problem with my friends, haha.

This card is insanely powerful for its cost, especially when you have a Bosk Banneret or two in play. This is a must have for ANY treefolk deck.

I think the fastest this thing can grow is (say you aren't going first, so you draw):
Turn 1: Forest, Treefolk Harbinger
Turn 2: Forest, Bosk Banneret
Turn 3: Forest, Bosk Banneret, Bosk Banneret, Dauntless Dourbark (it's an 8/8)
Turn 4: Forest, Timber Protector, Timber Protector (Dauntless is an 13/13 trample indestructible! It's more than a Darksteel Colossus!), let the smackdown begin!

Also, Murmuring Bosk is a Forest for a reason...it counts towards the Dourbark! (and then is indestructible from Timber Protectors)

@divine_exodus

And that is why Magic printed Timber Protector in the same set.

Seriously though, Lorwyn treefolk are near unstoppable.

The sometimes-Trample business seems a little silly....

Hate Dauntless Dourbark so much. In a mono green treefolk deck, or even a Doran treefolk deck using nonbasic forests like Murmuring Bosk for mana, he gets so insanely big for 4 mana, and virtually always has trample. Then you throw in that his lord makes him indestructible. Seems like a fair card. >.>

Throw in that most treefolk have large rear ends so that one of the only ways to effectively deal with them is to either have lots of destroy creature spells, or just enough exile spells to get rid of key treefolk even through the Timber Protector. But yeah, they're annoying as heck.

It's fitting that a tree should embody the very definition of "beatstick."

Lorwyn was a fun set. Elves were dark, Treefolk were big and beefy, Goblins, Merfolks, Fairies, Giants, and Elementals. I really like that Treefolk became a big part of a Magic the Gathering set.

This card needs a reprint in the Core set so bad. He isn't overpowered and encourages new players to learn how to play a green deck. Its also easily dealt with by all different deck types. A very valuable lesson would be to use removal and combat tricks against this big guy.

Infinitely superior to the vomit inducing Wood Elemental.
Very powerful, and very well costed.

As a bracer, this guy is wearing a barrel with two axes stuck in it. That's just how awesome he is.
