This Art Is Killer And The Mana Cost Is Great Plus Creature Decks Should Be The Only Decks

The mana is good and the art IS amazing; he's too easy to pick off tho, esp if you don't have many creature out. Really needs shroud or atleast a Shielding Plax because his ability puts an automatic target on his foerhead. Works great in decks that generate mass amount of tokens. :D
This what you call overkill. A card that will give you the victory by itself, and when you do have enough creatures to make him effective (above 5) you should be able to without him.
Hi simpli lacks abilities like shroud, lifelink or evasion.
I will give it 1/5, because it looks badass without being it.
If it had cost one less or came 2/2 body by just being itself it had been a 4/5 card. that is a little sad.

@MasterOfEtherium thats kind of stupid cause flame wave and a lightning bolt would kill this guy
@theis999: Try Primal Rage. You're probably running mass tokens with +1/+1 lords or enchantments, so adding trample to your army seems pretty obvious.

Because he lacks protection, you shouldn't be using him as a beater. Instead, use Knotvine Paladin as the beater for your token deck and use this guy as your game winner. Running gives you access to all sorts of Instant 1-turn protection cards and Mirrorweave. The Pro cards will fizzle at least one of your opponent's kill cards and will probably give you enough time to attack with the Scion. Mirrorweave will give you something like 8 8/8 creatures, given that you're running a token deck, which should be enough to kill your opponent in one turn, bar a fog, or Ghostly Prison (which are always the bane of creature-heavy decks). Furthermore, your opponent's creatures are now X/X creatures with no abilities (short of those granted by equipment/enchantments) and will therefore be smaller than your creatures (meaning that your opponent will be losing a lot of creatures when he blocks). As an added bonus, Mirrorweave can be used in a pinch to save your tokens from Volcanic Fallout, Nausea, and their ilk
I suggest Bathe in Light for your protection card of choice, as it will let you walk through if your opponent doesn't have a kill card (resolve it after Mirriorweave so that all your Scions have protection from all your opponent's Scions; without Mirrorweave, you can still get past the majority of your opponent's creatures). Like Mirrorweave, this also helps protect against Volcanic Fallout-type effects.
Further food for thought: Recent sets have provided green with a lot of "creature(s) can't be the target of spells or ability" cards, which will give you options even without white. Of Note: Dense Foliage, Canopy Cover, Aspect of Mongoose, Vines of Vastwood, and the new Asceticism

You guys seriously think a 3 cmc creature with an ability this ridiculous needs some sort of built-in evasion/ easy button? Come on! It'd be playing the game for you. Even in plain old mono-green, there are plenty of easy ways to give him trample/ protect him. Fists of Ironwood anyone? Vines of Vastwood? Canopy Cover? etc.
You put him in a deck that can pump out lots of cheap creatures relatively early, and he's gold - a finisher at 3 mana with the right deck build.

with all those 0 cmc artifact creatures from Scars this starts smelling like Monogreen beatdown.

Has anyone pointed out how this card has AWESOME synergy in multiplayer with Pollenbright Wings?
Scion Gains flying (and has trample if you use a copy of Fists of Ironwood with it too), and doubles it's power after attacking. If doubling season is in play, you triple your power!

In a Riku EDH deck he's at least a couple of 2/2s.

I play this guy in my token deck, and it is so much fun. Yesterday I played a game and ended up with 3 One Dozen Eyes and a Parallel Lives. Within a couple of turns, this guy was up to 35/35. I put a lure on one of the tokens and attacked. Game over.

If built around, this guy can be ridiculously efficient. There are infinite ways to make oodles of tokens by the time he can attack, especially in green. Give him a Rancor and he's good to go.
