Ah, those magic words at the bottom...all I can read is 'Rancor.' Not quite as good as rancor of course, but that return-to-hand mechanic is just so sweet. My old Auratog/enchantress deck is salivating.

These things coming back always makes for nicely enchanted creatures and provides fairly good card advantage.

This should have split second, to fit. But hey, it's a nice card. Be even nicer if it was troll-shroud, but how much can you ask for for two mana?
of course lightning greaves is better, but this is still good, ESPECIALLY in EDH where you can only have 1 lightning greaves... the 'return to hand' mechanic is fantastic.
Each Time Spiral card was an homage to at least one previously printed card.
This card is referencing the early prevalence of Shroud on green creatures always being mongooses like Nimble Mongoose and Blurred Mongoose, as well as the aura cycle that included Rancor.

Seriously, though, good card. Far from perfect, but far from bad.

or is it meant to only stop spells/abilities of my opponents?
Chump blocker of kings. Add Rancor for aggro value, though to be fair you might not need the shroud then.
Regardless, a good card to protect various Enchantresses.
