This card is really good in the sideboard of Reviellark decks against discard. They need to kill this in order for the discard to work and even if they have 1 removal spell for it, they rarely have two! Although this isn't played much I think that it should be.

If you can slap shroud on this card as well someone with a burn deck is in for a rough ride

this and greater aura mastery and any enchantment, you have shroud, this has shroud, all your enchanted creatures have shroud, and this even stops banefire, bane fire may not be counterable, or preventable, BUT YOU CAN NOT BE TARGETED, shroud wins

I use this card to create a Lockdown Mode. Get one of these out and any combination of Greater Aura Mastery or especially Privileged Position (so they shroud each other) and then none of your permanents nor you can be targeted indefinitely. Combine these factors to a card that somehow makes your permanents indestructible - use Elspeth, Knight-Errant - and you can find some interesting ways to win, usually involving the other player realizing he has to concede!

True Believer is a neat card against discard & burn decks, but it dies fairly easy. Even if you manage to slap Shroud on this, it'll still die to Pyroclasm and other similar effects. My best advice is to skip the Enchantments and simply use equipment to protect this guy - General's Kabuto from the Kamigawa block works really well with True Believer, providing both Shroud & "Cho-Manno-ism", making it fairly hard to kill.

Extremely useful in white control. And the artwork is really great.

Does this cards ability stop the new annihiator mechanic?
@tijame: I'm pretty sure this does not stop Annihilator, since Annihilator does not "target" you.

Pfft, wtf, a hetz against burn decks! Might as well make a card that said "You cannot take damage from creatures without flying"... stormtide leviathan...

Great card, but I'd rather take the troll shroud and potentially free effect of Leyline of Sanctity, as this guy is just too easy to get rid of versus enchantment removal.
if you look in the Comprehensive Rulebook, it also gives Spider-Man +1/+1

@ tijame:
No. Annihilator refers to the defending player, who is being attacked. It is not a targeted ability. Unless the defending player controls something like a Tajuru Preserver, or is capable of Stifle-ing or Trickbinding the Annihilator ability on the stack, they will be forced to sacrifice permanents as Annihilator resolves during Declare Attackers step.
With the flavor text and the pyramid, it seems to parallel the Luciferianism of the higher degrees of Freemasonry due to their denial of the truths of good and evil, all the while still claiming they are righteous. Although, he would fit the bill better if he was a black creature, but I suppose that's the definition of irony.
4.5/5 - only because it's shroud and an easily removable creature instead of hexproof and an enchantment, otherwise I'd give it a 5/5

Fundamentalism in Magic is surprisingly effective.
Then again, we got the Religion is Magic trope here, so mere facts are literally just mere facts. Which means your blind certainty isn't that blind and can actually accomplish something. Unlike IRL.

To have a white creature give you shroud itn't that good because a lot of white spells give target player life and you wouldn't be able to use that. I would suggest witchbane orb
I set up such a deck against a friend with his "lol my goblin deck is unbeatable" ideology. Did pretty well since I also had some other anti red thrown in there.
Ravnica's red/black flavor kinda messed up my happy medium though.

In a cleric deck Mother of Runes is enough to protect this guy. Add in a Master Apothecary (or Battletide Alchemist) and you've got yourself the Holy Trinity. Possibly on turn 3.

I want to alter this card so that he has his fingers in his ears, and give him new flavor text: "LA LA LAAA, I CAN'T HEAR YOU!" Maybe a gigantic stack of untouched books in front of him lol

I just realized that if you have this out, all of the Oaths from Exodus are one-sided.

However, True Believer's ability will prevent you from becoming the target of cards such as Chainer's Edict, Diabolic Edict, Cruel Edict, Geth's Verdict, and even Cruel Ultimatum as all of those cards refer to a target player or opponent. However, Innocent Blood, Grave Pact, and Butcher of Malakir will still affect a player with shroud. When those spells or abilities resolve each affected player will sacrifice as normal unless they control a Tajuru Preserver.
