You could reuse this card a lot if u have cards that let u return it to ur hand before it goes bye bye such as trade routes, vedalken mastermind, flicker, or blood clock/umbilicus. Being that landfall is now a part of the game, that strategy could be useful in other ways too.

Compared to lands now, this thing is just terrible. Don't build a deck around one land just so you can have good mana.

Omenchild, no drawback ? My other lands don't disappear after 3 uses. This isn't a terrible card, but I can think of others I'd rather use to produce any color mana. Rupture Spire and Undiscovered Paradise are 2 obvious ones.

Used to think this was fantastic--no-drawback City of Brass for three whole turns!--but it's not like it has a colorless tap ability after you drain it, so you end up land-disadvantaging yourself at a pretty crucial point in the game. It's merely good.

Terrible nowadays? This is great! No other land provides any color without a drawback or without some good luck. Just as good as Ancient Ziggurat

EDIT:I could see someone using Undiscovered Paradise as well, but it has a pretty powerful drawback, and Rupture Spire sets you back 2 turns the turn you cast it. I never meant that this land had no drawback, but that no land does it's job without a drawback, because someone said it was terrible nowadays.

If you win before you need to tap it a fourth time, then its perhaps the perfect land for you.

I would not say Undiscovered Paradise is any better than this card; having the land bounced the turn after can impede you, so I would say they are about even.

Remember, Gemstone Mine, in a zoo deck that is aggressive early is just about the best land you can have asides from whatever your Kird Ape or Loam Lion needs for their bonuses.

The only thing I don't like about this card is that it vanishes from the board completely once the counters are depleted. Even if it just hung around, unable to produce any mana at all, it would at least serve to power up your Reflecting Pool or something.

Otherwise, great card. Played in the right deck this can give you easy-access off-color mana for splash or mana-fixing, but with the option of using it straight off if you need the on-color mana right away. The fact that it's completely gone after three turns is a bit of a downside, but that just means it can't be casually thrown in any deck with a necessarily good outcome.

This land is probably one of the best post Alpha/Beta/Revised edition lands ever made, with the exclusion of the Ravnica pay lands. Which, this land, if you need to use it multiple times, works best with the guild bounce lands of Ravnica as well. This is ideal in certain deck types that want to use any given color at any given time, such as evoke elementals, 5 color control, the stupid 3color blocks of planechase and whatever the newer one was. This is a fantastic answer that is both relatively cheap $$$ wise, and has no draw back other than you get to play another one and another one...

Generally outclassed by Vivid lands, which (admittedly) can only provide rainbow mana twice, but can still tap for their basic mana every turn. Admittedly, it doesn't come into play tapped, but I haven't seen this land played in many years, even in Commander.

Was a staple in Worldgorger Dragon decks back in the day.

This was my favorite Rainbow Land for many, many years.
Sure it goes away after three uses, but that buys you at *least* three turns to get your manabase otherwise fixed.
That's the true beauty of this card- as a mana fixer.
If you want a more longterm option, try any of the other lands mentioned here,
or my personal favorites, Glimmervoid and Thran Quarry.

Also, it's a real shame Brom didn't do more MtG art- he's my favorite fantasy artist.

You're all wrong. This card is great just because it reminds me of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs :)

HI HO!
HI HO! HI HO! HI HO!

(^must whistle this as you kill opponent if this land is in play. that's a rule now.)

EDIT: just heard that FTV: Lands was announced today. I know this a good card- my question is, is it on the reserved list, or could they reprint it in a Vault set?

Gotta use the Ravnica Bounce lands with these.

As others have mentioned, bounce is nice with this one. Me, I am trying to get my hands on 4 of them for my five color proliferate/Planeswalker deck.

Also a very good friend of Ruin Ghost.

One of the best cards for decks that need a third or forth colour. Especially for a splashed colour this card is ideal. The "drawback" can be overcomed easily without problem. The only real drawback is that there aren't other similar cards as good as this one.

One of the more powerful nonbasic lands in Modern.

The art is simple but pretty.
Also a fantastic card. GREAT in the early stages of the game.

I just recently bought 4 of these cards for a very reasonable price. I use 'em in my nivmagus elemental deck, and these cards have pulled me out of the fire over and over for a turn 2 or 3 win.

The formats this is played in you will win or lose before the counters are spent anyways.
