Use with Jace's erasure to control what your opponent draws. If their top card isn't a threat, use the erasure's effect on yourself when you draw, allowing you to see your next card and decide whether to keep it or mill it.

@Forgeling: Yep. Artifacts are people, kinda like Soylent Green.

As far as my searching and knowledge reveals, this is one of only two non-unset cards that causes all players to play with the top card of their library revealed. The other, Field of Dreams, is mostly obsolete in comparison to this.
Really liked this card ever since it came out. Although it can be destroyed easier by red and black, you can get it easier than Field of Dreams since it's a 1cc artifact (via Trinket Mage for instance)
The second ability is merely an expedient since it will end the insight and isn't reliable to give better results, but it's for free and that's also what gives this card a use by itself without building around it.
@KikiJikiTiki: Don't forget about the lame and obvious choice for the second ability, Cosi's Trickster ;) It would at least be useful if you draw a second lantern.
Wow! This should go into almost any mill deck. Either starve your opponent of lands or (A bit harder) make sure that's the only thing they get.

People underrate shuffling. If your mana screwed, it can save your bacon. If your oppoment is about to get a really good card, it screws them over, and might do other things as well.
Its a double-edged sword, but if you in a situation like mana screw, you have nothing to lose. It might just save your day.
and hell, this thing is only 1 mana, and an artifact, to boot. so you might as well use it in your artifact deck if you have it. hell, you could do worse, like Brass Gnat.

A very handy card for 1 mana. Having doubles out is a-okay because of the deny ability. On its own its maindeck worthy, but with any kind of support, like Djinn of Wishes, it because even better.
Use in EDH with "Put target creature on top of their library" effects and some artifact recursion. You'll quickly be hated, but hey.. *you* had fun right? :)

Wizened Snitches is another card that has the same effect. Though this is still better as it is cheaper, less able to be removed, and can potentially keep your opponent from getting something nasty if you run out of repeatable mill effects for the turn.

Use with things that interact with topdeck, of course.
Works fantastically with the clash mechanic, but can also be utilized with cards like Djinn of Wishes and Summoning Trap for you, or Cerebral Eruption and Telemin Performance against your opponent.
Psychic Battle also seems like a good idea.

Enough said!
