Sweet, it's almost a Foribidden Alchemy, but this one can't be countered by Dispel. With Quicken back, the sorcery speed is bearable.

I'd rather have Forbidden Alchemy than this. Forbidden Alchemy will rotate soon, but this still isn't worth playing unless Theros has some graveyard mechanics.

The only place I see this being useful is when someone has you on lockdown unable to draw cards: Maralen of the Mornsong or wants to punish you for drawing: Runeflare Trap which are SO niche that this card is poop.

If you were going to make a worse vanilla version of forbidden alchemy, you could have at least made it same number of cards not to mention instant speed.

Why do terrible cards always end up with such beautiful art?

No redeeming features at all. Slow, expensive, and doesn't dig as many cards as other alternatives. Complete crap in almost every way.

This is trying hard to look like Intuition, but remember, Intuition searches while this reveals. Not only that, but I thought there were enough of those "reveal the top and choose some of them. discard the rest" in Green (Mulch, Grisly Salvage).
Whatever the cause, is just a little too much for this to be played anywhere. I'd rather have a Divination, sadly.

Strictly worse than Impulse in 3 instances: it's a sorcery, costs more, and you look 1 card less! I don't care about where the other cards go, but someone may sees it as an upside... If you think that this fact is enought to consider this over Impulse, I'm sorry for you...
I'm not asking for a reprint of Impulse, but at least they could have reprinted Strategic Planning, since it have a nice name and is already strictly worse than Impulse. Or at least a simplier version of Forbidden Alchemy, without the Flashback... They really are afraid of the power of blue draw in the early game? Banning Ponder and Preordain in modern wasn't enough? Reprinting Sleight of Hand or Telling Time wasn't safe for the metagame?

This could have been 'look at the top 5 cards' and it wouldn't have been broken, or even good (maybe for reanimation at that point, as a replacement for forbidden alchemy).
(I'm aware that almost all of these cards are too good for Standard. Telling Time is probably the appropriate Standard choice. I just find it even more entertaining to compare .5 star cards to 6.5 star cards x3 )
They could have at least made this semi playable at instant speed.... This should not be an uncommon... Divination at common is better than this.
Why did they print this? This should have been a reprint of Telling Time at uncommon.. a very playable card that could use a reprint in a core set.
The artwork is good. The flavour text fits but this card will never see constructed play and it's mind boggling why this is an uncommon.

@leomistico Impulse is a bad comparison because in a lot of cases graveyard is way better than back in your deck. Just look at the comments on fact or fiction or gifts ungiven. If it weren't for the graveyard part of fact or fiction, it would usually be worse than a draw three. So many things love being in your graveyard.

I am pretty sure they did this because Pauper is becoming so Paupular lol, that they were afraid of the impact reprinting Strategic Planning would have on the format along side all the other broken card draw spells that people use PonderBrainstorm but they could have simply made it two mana but still uncommon, though by todays cards even at two this would suck as an uncommon, and at 1 mana would have been a tiny bit too good for its rarity, but still uncommon I think since you only get to keep one.

As is, this card is hella-bad. Forbidden alchemy was even a common!
Then compare this to Forbidden Alchemy.
Then compare this to Impulse
Then compare this to Ponder.
Then compare this to Brainstorm.
Then compare this to Ancestral Recall.
WOOOOOWWWW XD
