I'm happy my casual W/U deck is Aura based. This is going right on in.

The Azorius word for "Fair" translates to "Winning" in most other languages -_- (because it is Right for Justice to Prevail.)

Less splashable Aven Fleetwing. But stronger

Also, am I the only person who thinks that Ascended Lawmage is Azorius Guildmage but with wings?

Fantastic guy to put auras on, which Azorius is all about. Love the art too!

I'm pretty sure this card will utterly kill me in Prerelease. Dear lord, I hope a Trestle Troll appears in my guild pack, because this is about as anti-Golgari as any Limited-purposed creature could get without saying "Protection from green and black wink wink. At the beginning of your upkeep, set fire to your opponent's graveyard, nudge nudge, *cough*Golgari*cough*".

Thought to be fair, it's not fun to face for any part-green guild.

This would seem to be the spiritual successor of Deft Duelist.

Honestly, this thing is good. Very, very good. So good that getting Unflinching Courage onto this bad boy lead to many a scoop at pre-release.
So good that I may make a bant hexproof deck.

For anyone running Bant Hexproof like myself, this is going to be the best we get for a replacement for cards like Invisible Stalker and Geist of Saint Traft in standard. Wizards stated they wouldn't be making them like that anymore, so once Innistrad cycles out, I'm probably going to have to run this and whatever 1 to 2 drop hexproofs I can take, if there are any.

Kickass in Bant Enchant, awesome in Limited. I love it.

Absolutely absurd with Ring of Thune. And both are REALLY cheap.

I can't wait to build a deck around this card! Control/Auras, with a hint of mill to taste.

I prefer it over Aven Fleetwing as you can use steel of the godhead on this one and take advantage of both boosts.

But what first caught my eye really was the art, for me it's the best on Gatecrash and maybe even of all time. I don't have the urge to compare every single card, but if i would, this would probably be the one

I read it as Ascended Lawnmage the first time I read this card

No, of course it's not Geist of St. Traft. But what is? I honestly think the good lawmage is better in the sense that the game is better without ridiculously aggressive creatures that just so happen to also be hexproof. And it's not Sigarda either. Both of those cards could win games by themselves, and honestly, that's just not very fun. This card won't do that in constructed, but it's still very much a playable card. The mana-cost in white-blue is a really nice touch, considering the two M14 green hexproof cards, Witchstalker and Gladecover Scout, won't be able to curve easily into this. I also like the number of widely-played sacrifice-based removal cards floating around in black and white right now. None of this is to mention Glaring Spotlight either as a kind of fail-safe measure to keep a single mechanic from ruining a good card game. Anyway, all of this makes hexproof playable and relevant without being non-interactive, not-fun and overpowered. Good design in the overall meta.

4.000 exactly. To break or not to break. Trollface.

Solid draft card, evasion with flying and hexproof, an average body for the cost. Any buffs from auras or equipment and this thing takes over games in a hurry.
