That must be a lot of filth that Branko saw, considering the amount of filth he had to deal with when he lost his ear

Much better than the current 2.5 rating. And sillier, too

Notice he doesn't care who controls the dead creature. Once your deathtouchie rats start pouring in, he's bound to make more

This is Ratcatcher's nephew.

This plus Undercity Informant and Mortus Strider could make a lot of tokens.

rat tribal is starting to get really good

You might say that if you had some obscure way to make all your creatures Rats it'd be quite a Conspiracy. Frankly, I'd love to see a Rat Tribal deck.

I love lords that aren't the creature type of what they power up.

This guy with Swarmyard on the battlefield. Throw in Throat Slitter for more rat plague. "Oh, you don't want to block my Typhoid Rats token? Well, your creature is dead and I get another one."

Thinking about it, these might be the creatures that the "Dies to Doomblade" crowd runs.

He's not from Ravinca, he's from Dunwall!

I suppose Ravnica would be the place for Rat tribal, thanks to all the delicious garbage that exists in cities.

Saw this card, thought it was funny. Then I remembered pack rat ... now I'm building a rat deck

I think he should have either deserved a higher p/t or some keyword ability, intimidate or something.

It's nice that he basically combos with himself. Any deathtouch rat of yours dying in combat will have this guy spawn a new deathtouch rat.

I guess he is really good in limited, bad in constructed, and... well, really good in Commander rat decks.

Ogres seem to be better at buffing other tribes than their own. Look at Blood Speaker.

This would be much better if it didn't say "nontoken". Seriously.

unwrapped one of these the other day. Haven't gotten a chance to use it yet but I can't wait to pair it with an unburial rights/ undying evil type deck

Lots of fun to play after a Pandemonium. "You guys get Damnation, I get a pack of rats."

Very cool. Note that his ability triggers whenever any other nontoken creature dies, not just nontoken creatures you control. You really profit from others' losses. He's a very solid (and inexpensive) card for casual Magic.

Artificial Evolution Rat to Rogue for a sweet Lord with Deathtouch.

Ridiculous combo with Jinxed Idol.
First, get your Slumlord out.
Then, get a sacrifice to feed it (ideally a rat, if possible)
Your opponent gets it, if he doesn't want to take the damage, he can sacrifice something to give you a rat...
Which you just sacrifice back to him, or keep for the deathtouch to block, or just sac something else.

This is great in just 1v1, but in multiplayer it's even better.
Sometimes, they just give up and give it to each other, netting you a bunch of rats.

@ThisisSakon I just did, then noticed your comment.

I already liked the card, now I am more tempted to play it. Perhaps with stuff like Consuming Vapors *casual*

Nice Rat lord even in non-Rat decks, and works ridiculously well with Crypt Rats:
His second ability gives them deathtouch, so spending one black mana on them will send every creature to the graveyard. His first ability will trigger for each death and give you a 1/1 rat in return.

So basically, you'll swipe the board and get a swarm of rats (no, not that one) in return.

The effect is also enhanced by a good amount of life loss if you have a Patron of the Nezumi.
And if you have Swarmyard(s), you'll even be able to save a rat or two.

Could see using this with Plague Wind... Just use a couple Dark Rituals...

Yeah Rat Tribal is a deck I'm looking forward to making. Ravenous Rats with Deathtouch makes a 2 drop 1/1 even better. You can run some serious yard hate with Crypt Incursion and Cremate, or if you splash some Red Rakdos Charm will do the Trick. Drain Pipe Vermin and Ravvies alone are enough to make your opponent pull out their hair when they realize that they're going to chuck their whole hand and lose anything they attack with only to have 1 Rat token with Deathtouch come into play for both their own dead attacker and the sad sack Ravvy or DPV that chump blocked their sorry attempt at an offense. God its brutal... love it.

I love the reference to Ratcatcher. Happy it's not a reprint and rather a synergistic card.
With pack rat in the block, 4/5.
also reminds me a lot of deranged hermit, just less broken and makes typhoid rats instead of beefy squirrels.

i was wondering about this card i was playing in multiplayer game yesterday and a friend of mine attacked me with 6 creature's and i blocked a 2\2 creature with slumlord and the 2\2 died so i got a rat token out and i has deathtouch. can i block with the token a 9\9 creature and it dies do i got another token out ? so basicly what i am asking is, if i kill one creature when i am blocking and i have Ogre slumlord out and i get a rat token can i just clean out all his attacks no matter how many creature's he is attacking me with aslong as i kill em with my rat token?? if so this card is preety OP since i can just block a 10\10 creature with my rat token and get another rat token when that 10\10 dies and use that token to block another card and so on??
