Plummet is better for just getting rid of fliers, but I like the wink at the meta here. "Psst! This gets rid of Swords!" At least sideboard material if you're concerned about equipment.
I'm just disappointed it wasn't a Tribal Instant - Spider. Spiders need more love, especially when they're on our side eating imps and demons and other undead nasties.

Suddenly it makes perfect sense that Insectile Aberration is half-Insect.

A missed opportunity to show the Lady of Videns again.

Good card for the format today. I am really not impressed by the name but the flavor is ironically fitting with Insectile Aberration eaten by a spider.

It was built to fight Cawblade, and it was implemented when Cawblade hit standard.

Four sets too late, Wizards. Four sets too late.

DIE CAWBLADE! DIE DELVER! WE WILL NEVER PRINT A GOOD 1-2 CMC FLYING CREATURE AGAIN!

The flavor text doesn't make much sense to me. It says that they prefer the undead. Why, then, do they go for flying creatures? There are only eighteen flying zombies in all of Magic, and only one of them is from Innistrad.

This isn't likely to be more than a very specific side-board pick in most formats, but I love it for commander!

In my group at least people love their equipment, and they love giving their commanders flying with those equipment. A fair number of them just plain have flying commanders (Look at the list of legendary angels) so I have rarely had this sit dead in my hand.

I love how any creature with flying, no matter how powerful it is (as long as it's not indestructible) is subject to getting eaten by spiders.

How do you like the flavor of Withengar Unbound finally being released from his eternal prison inside Elbrus the Binding Blade, setting about to satisfy his thirst for revenge and destroy the world and whatnot, then getting tangled up in some webs and eaten by spiders?

I love cards that have phrases as names. Because we're a casual group, we don't know all of the cards, so naturally, the most frequent question is "What's that?"
It's great to be able to answer just by saying the name.

While it may be great sideboard vs Insectile Aberration holding Runechanter's Pike or Sword of War and Peace, it's little help against the first two swords from Scars block. . . Which both give Protection from Green.

You would have to give everything flying to make use of this. Bad card otherwise.

My girlfriend created a silly situation with an Augury Owl, a Brass Squire, and every equipment she could play, including several living weapons and an Argentum Armor. She beat my zombie deck to death with that stupid owl. >_< This inspired a Stoopid Owl deck, of course, built entirely around playing various owls and loading them up with equipment.

Yeah. You see where this card comes in.

How spiders suddenly began eating metal, hide and wood weapons and armour is beyond me...
