for a common this is pretty sweet.

Love it when they give commons mythic-level artwork.

This is the type of card a non-Magic player would see while walking by a table and immediately be interested in the action.

Great job, Wizards.

Oh, fits much better here.

It has a good balance of mana cost, P/T, and abilities for the rarity. The flavor text is great. I do have a couple of complaints about the art, though. First, thigh-high boots and bare thighs (and it looks like a corset, too)? When did white become the color of fetishwear? Secondly, her wings are positioned too low on the body, like they meet at the small of the back instead of closer to the shoulderblades. Other than the outfit, I love what the art was going for, but I can't unsee the weird wing placement.

This is a really solid card. Probably my steadiest performer at prerelease. Excellent blocker, attacker, and all-around creature, and very fair for the cost. This is the type of common that can fill out many decks.

Easily the best white common in the set. I could see this being an occasional first pick in a draft. 5/5.

This card has begun to be called the "Limited Baneslayer" in my group. While this may be an overstatement, it is certainly a house.

Typical common. Ok in limited, sucks in constructed.

The fact that this is getting such positive feedback goes to show how insane Vampire Nighthawk was.

Comparing this to Baneslayer is folly. Yes, Baneslayer is much better at 1 more mana, but not everyone has $30+ laying around to get a set of them. This is something that any player has easy access to and that will impact the board at most levels of competition.

Can you say limited powerhouse?

Practically won me a draft. Takes a while to end the game, but definitely impacts the board pretty seriously.

Why play this over baneslayer? Maybe because it comes out a turn earlier. Maybe because baneslayer is hella expensive and this is not. Maybe because baneslayer is not in standard. Maybe you just don't like baneslayer. Personally I'd rather take a good ol serra angel. Vigilance > Lifelink for me.

But assuming you have a playset of baneslayers, why not play this alongside baneslayer?

Even White boys got to shout. (Sorry, I'm sure that joke's been made a million times.)

She has a big enough butt to hold off 3/3 angels, which are very common in AVR. Lifegain and extra toughness are both very nice while I Amass The Components, looking for Avacyn.

And she can trade with a Silverblade Paladin and gain you two life! Which is not so good, but Silverblade Paladins are scary.

30+ booster packs and not a single one of these... its like an uncommon common or something...

@TimmyForever: Because we aren't all douches. My roomate tried to tell me this card sucked, I told him there was this great game called Magic he should try playing sometime.

Edit: Douchebags win games with their wallets, not their brains.

I won't lie, baneslayer is way better, but almost everything looks bad next to baneslayer. Comparing this to baneslayer is like holding up a flashlight next to the sun and saying " huh which is brighter?" That doesn't necessarily mean that the flashlight sucks. I like the seraph of the dawn even next to baneslayer anyway because it's just a good low mana cost creature.

This card wins. The haters can go home, because it's true. They hate this card because it rules more than they do.

4 for 2/4 flyer isnt that bad and the lifelink is just an icing. for a cheap common is a very decent card. nuff said there

This is a common kill card in my friend's {B} {W} standard exalted deck, what with having lifelink and what not. Yeah, it's exalted, perhaps not the best mechanic in the game, but being black and white means control can supplement the slow aggro.

She's actually quite great. An evasive creature with high toughness that can gain you life. Very good Limited card with beautiful artwork.

5/5. The card itself 3.5/5. Add the art and it really deserves 5 stars :)

Perfect answer to flipped Delver of Secrets in pauper.
