This is reeeaaaally good with undying. It is a little expensive, but at it woulda been too good

This land is really going to help my B/G Birthing Pod token deck. Especially, when the board gets crowded and there is no overrun in sight.

The ability requires a tap, so in most cases you'd need to tap five lands for that effect to fire. You can, of course, uses mana creature to speed it up but that's still four mana + the land tap and a creature to draw one card. I don't think an activate cost of 1BG is too much to ask for.

Undying and Morbid enabler and sacrifice engine in one! So this is the place where Savra spends her free time.

At first glance, I misread the artist's name as Vincent Price, lol. This card will find a home in my EDH deck, turn a creature that was going to die anyway into another card to replace it. Seems pretty solid to me.

Why yes, I think I WILL sacrifice my chump blocker before combat damage to draw a card! Thank you!
Great in slower formats, or if you find yourself top-decking while your board position slowly erodes.

When you look at the art for this, you think, huh, this needs to go on a Black Green land.

Really expensive for what it does. My Glissa Commander deck likes sacrifice outlets, but not ones that technically cost me 5 mana. I'd rather cast something that would impact my board or, you know, be fun.

This actually has a very sophisticated environmental message. See, you sacrifice a Dredge creature, then instead of drawing a card, mill yourself to return that same creature to its owner's hand!
Why? RECYCLING!

Sheoldred anyone? Sac Solemn draw two return it next turn. I know its a lot, but its late game standard.

This probably isn't a card you can truly build around. However I don't want to underestimate the power level of its utility. Quite a few decks could benefit from creature saccing, and don't necessarily have to rely on it to be effective. If you're running {G}/{B} this can be a great option for what it can do at higher levels. I'm curious to see how this works with undying,
In Commander, Mimeoplasm decks love this since they can fill their graveyard and their hand.

Okay, here's the thing. This card isn't GREAT, but it can work. With morbid and undying, this land can get you extra cards for sure. Other G/B draw options include Garruk, Primal Hunter and Bloodgift Demon.

in this color combination, one gets the feeling you could call drawing a card the cost and gettting to sacrifice a creature the reward. :p
G/B/U is going to rape Standard. I'm still calling it. Been calling it since Innistrad, and Dark Ascension appears to be trying to put out the fire with gasoline.

This is a solid role player in my BUG Heartless Lich deck. It not only provides a sac outlet for me to reanimate ETB/LTB creatures, it lets me draw a card in the process. And there's nothing quite like surprising an opponent by sacing a Wurmcoil Engine to block at instant speed after you've already attacked with it (especially when you can just reanimate it). Highly underrated card.

I run this in my B/G Glissa deck. Midrange deck well fit in current meta for my shop. This card is a 2 of and does wonders for it.
Sac perilous myr, shoot a creature with its effect, get the myr back with glissa, and draw a card. So all in all. Removed a creature, activated morbid, and gained a card for the total cost of 5 mana (4 + the land itself)
Its also a good way to activate morbid for anything really. Tragic slip is a good thought albiet expensive.

While I understand the usefulness of this taking up a land slot, I still find Carnage Altar to be more useful. Or hell, Fecundity in the right deck even. Taking to use it only once per turn is sort of lame.
Granted, ok, fine, I'm speaking from an EDH/Legacy point of view. I have absolutely no idea how useful this is in T2, since I don't play that format. But judging by the low price it's holding, I'm assuming it's not winning any tourneys.

I really like this card, mostly because I run a G/B morbid deck.
I could always use Disciple of Griselbrand as a sac outlet for life or Altar's Reap for more cards, but Reap isn't repeatable and Life... well, if you're murdering Young Wolf's or zombies from Moan of the Unhallowed, I'd say it's better to get that card than the life.
Although, the biggest problem is it's cost. 4 CMC is a little high. I suppose the price of continuous card draw is either 1 life or 4 mana. At least the colour that benefits most from this isn't blue, the standard drawing colour.
That's cost effective right? I suppose if it was cheaper some spikey permission player would molest you with dredge.

This card is a surprise MVP in a / EDH deck. Using Bloodghast or Nether Traitor in combination with it means at least one extra card per turn, and with Sheoldred, Whispering One, it can get even crazier. Sacrificing a Corpse Connoisseur to it and recurring it gives you a free fatty straight from your deck every other turn, and a splash of reanimation rounds out the deck. Glissa, the Traitor makes a wonderful commander, since she can recur artifacts too.

Instead of my usual attempts at wit, I'd like to provide some analysis for this intriguing megacycle of lands from Innistrad, namely how said lands fit into the overall design of the block.
Analysis: In Innistrad, are the primary colors of Morbid and major colors for Undying. The Backwoods enables both mechanics by providing you with an outlet for sacrificing creatures. Furthermore, there are multiple cards in Innistrad block alone that care that creatures are in your graveyard and oftentimes how many. Boneyard Wurm and Ghoultree are the premier examples, while Gnaw to the Bone and Spider Spawning aren't bad either.
Garruk Relentless also contributes to the death and graveyard themes, especially in his Veil-Cursed form which serves both as another sac outlet and as another means of capitalizing on your ever-swelling graveyard.
