My four drop slot became a little crowded, and I found it most practical to get rid of Moan of the Unhallowed altogether. For constructed, it should never see play. If we're going back a ways, then Undead Warchief would be a better 4-drop. This card just isn't worth it outside of limited =/ (which sucks because I was so excited when I saw it)

This card isn't getting its due. It's great in Limited; getting 4 power for 4 mana is great, even better when it's spread across two dudes. It's fantastic in Limited if your deck has any sort of "Zombies-matter" thing going for it. The flashback cost might look high, but late-game you'll have that mana sitting around anyhow (if it gets to late-game) so it's just extra value to be able to cast it again at all.

Turn X: Moan of the Unhallowed Turn Y: Flashbacked Moan of the Unhallowed Then, Runic Repetition + Moan of the Unhallowed Flashbacked Moan of the Unhallowed
The other guy basically scooped then.

So what's the moan of the unhallowed sound like? I'm guessing "Braiiiinssss." Why do zombies always want brains? Whats so bad about other parts of us pods of flesh?

You know that sweet feeling you get when you when you drop Grave Titan and zombies take over the table?
It's like that, except cheaper, with FLASHBACK.

Zombies. And then, later, more Zombies! :D

Would this be playable for 0 cmc with the likes of Rooftop storm? It says Zombie creature spells you cast and this would certainly be about as "Zombie" a creature spell as it gets right? Just curious.

Zombie 1: That's a lot of zombies. Zombie 2: Zombeyez (rhymes with eyes) Zombie 1: Eh? Zombie 2: It's pronounced Zomb-eyez Zombie 1: It is not! We're Zombies! And proud of it. Zombie 2: But it's pronounced Zomb-eyez! Zombie 1: We're mythological beings, I can pronounce us however I wan'!

@Mike-C, you can't because Rooftop Storm specifically says "zombie creature spells". This is a sorcery that creates tokens, not a creature spell. You can't use Rooftop for casting it, OR casting it via flashback.

Could they make this exact card in green? Making wolves? If so, would it cost more? Less? Lower rarity?

@Streamhopper: Don't even get me started on the Innistrad zombie deck now that we have Gravecrawler. That thing rendered all my zombie decks useless until he cycles out of standard and I can afford a playset. From a casual perspective, though, Moan's nice after a Diregraf Captain. @Kyptnyt: I bet it has to do with its fat contents. If I recall my anatomy classes correclty the human brain has quite a low level of fat compared to proteins and mineral nutrients. Zombies are quite concerned about their diet, you know - how do you think Crypt Creeper got that slim body?

I can't believe how I never see this card at FNM where I play! It's such a good card, but people just don't run it for some reason. This is four zombies in one card!

4 2/2 zombies for 7 if played in the same round. But much more efficient (and fun!) to zip this in the very next round. A must-have in a zombie deck.

Moan of the brainhollowed.

Nah, I'd rather use an actual creature card so I can exile it for numerous other Zombie effects. Cool artwork though, Nils Hamm can do no wrong.

That's four zombies in one card! FOUR ZOMBIES! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAH SO GOOD!!
Don't even get me started on Army of the Damned.
Also, this card has synergy with itself. Those tokens are going to help stall the board allowing you to re-cast it.
Great card with Intangible Virtue out. 4 mana for 2 3/3 zombies with vigilance.
1/5
My deck works like this:
Turn one: Diregraf Ghoul.
Turn two: Walking Corpse, swing for 2.
Turn three: Cemetery Reaper, swing for six.
Turn four...
Now here's where we're at a crossroads. There are three 4cmc cards that could fit in this spot when it comes to this deckbuild.
1. Moan of the Unhallowed
2. Abattoir Ghoul
3. Endless Ranks of the Dead

It's like that, except
Zombie 2: Zombeyez (rhymes with eyes)
Zombie 1: Eh?
Zombie 2: It's pronounced Zomb-eyez
Zombie 1: It is not! We're Zombies! And proud of it.
