5/5 for this card's simplicity. it's an instant kill spell. that just kills. :P no bells or whistles. it gets the job done.

Most cost-effective version of "destroy target creature. It can't be regenerated" in spell form. Slightly undercut by being two colors rather than one, which opens up more potential for protection effects to screw you. On the other hand, you'll mostly likely only be dealing with one protection effect, meaning you should be able to sidestep it with either Doom Blade or something like Incinerate.

Remember: always say "You have been terminated" with Austrian accent when you cast this.

The best removal spell in a black-red deck. No contest.
I'm sorry, but isn't Terror strictly better? It's 1 and a black, instead of 2 colors, it's the same cost, it does the same thing, and it's the same spell speed. It also gets around proc red. Though, there is a case to being multi-colored as a positive as it can be tutored with other multi-colored cards, though, not necessarily red/black. Still, I would say Terror is better.
Edit: Disregard that, I forgot that Terror had limitations...

Am I the only one hoping that the skeletonized guy was John Connor from T2?

In my opinion, the second best creature removal spell in entirety of magic.(that I have seen) I got one of these, and the only kill spell I get more joy from casting is a Swords to Plowshares. So versatile. Should be in every single deck running black and red.

If you're running B/R, ignore those Terrors and Doom Blades and Go For The Throats and go for this. Or run all of them, if you're feeling ornery.

Gathered the words 'destroy target creature' under 'Black Instants' to get the broadest selection of cards while getting to the point as well. I ended up with a Visual Spoiler that fit on one page. The Ravnica spells that 'destroy target creature or X' are the best Ultra-Utility if you are looking to make a gold Commander Deck. If you absolutely have to stay in mono-black, then Hero's Demise, Doom Blade, and Go For the Throat roughly tie at 2 mana (sorry Rend Flesh). But if you are looking for the fastest way to Kill Target Thing using only 1 land per turn, it goes Swamp, Mountain, turn 2 your Terminate will get everything without Shroud, Indestructible, Hexproof, or Protection. If the creature has any of those, say "STFU I play Final Judgment".
Edit: Or Undying, Persist, or any number of niche annoying abilities like that. Final Judgment is FINAL.

So my friend mike plays a blue control deck and it's like turn 6 and he hasn't put down any creatures. I have quite a few but, most of them are locked up by his enchantments.
Me: Go Mike: Ok, *untaps and draws a card*. Finally! *taps mana to put down first creature* Me: Terminate Mike: Cancel Me: Terminate Mike: Fuuuu-

Terminate 2 mana instant that destoys 95% of the creatures ever printed. Oh did I mention its common? 5/5 just for being efficiently costed and being Isochroned
Why didn't Grexis get this? I'd love to kill that stupid regenerate EVERY DECK HAS NOW!

For B/R, there is now Dreadbore.
This one prevent the regeneration. It nice, but situationnal.
Dreadbore can also destroy a planeswalker. It's more versatile. Sometime, you just need to destroy his Gideon or Jace.
Both of them are awesome, and it a good idea to run both in a casual B/R deck instead of Doom Blade, etc.

Anzu-chan - while in most cases Dreadbore can hit more stuff effectively due to hit walkers (and not too many of the best creatures having regeneration), there's a reason why most high level modern decks run Terminate over Dreadbore.
Ok, so what's the reason? What's the other difference, besides planeswalker vs regeneration?
Instant vs sorcery.
Being able to cast Terminate at instant speed means that you can cast it at the end of their turn, and potentially hit a bigger threat. If they're playing a deck with counters, you force them to either take the Terminate or tap out mana on their own turn, giving you more freedom on yours.
Terminate is, I'd say, usually better from a strategic point of view. :-)

better than dreadbore for the simple fact that these go for like 75 cents a pop and Dreadbores are ridiculously expensive. I get the planeswalker removal but if you're running red, you should just be able to burn a walker and move on.
