I think that this and Howlpack Alpha are gonna be the cards that push werewolves into standard (if they actually work)

This card bothers me for one reason. The name and art should have been swapped with Moonmist. Why is the mist turning the humans into werewolves?

This is going to fit right into my changeling deck. Chameleon Colossus loves his trample and any power boost is liable to be doubled or tripled. Throw in regeneration and you have a winning combo.

Doesn't really make sense flavorfully, you think it would keep them all transformed, or maybe just during your turn or your opponents turn (as in the moon rising)

Another intensely powerful tribal card. Not only that, but it provides protection from wrath effects.

And here's the anti-Ratchet Bomb tech I've been looking for.

Finally a card worthy of my Three Wolf Moon shirt!
which back in the day was pretty ridiculous... and this seems like it might be a little better than fires (although they can't really be compared 1:1 because they're completely different abilities)
soooooo werewolf tribal is looking pretty scary...

I would have given it a Rule of Law effect, to keep them face-down once you pass your turn, next turn.

My wolf deck wants this to affect wolves, too.
Bah, who am I kidding? I don't have a wolf deck.

I like the out of the box thinking of putting this in a changeling deck. But this is mediocre with the best werewolves have to offer right now. There is still only one 1-drop! What am I supposed to do the 60% of the time that I don't draw it in my opening hand? I'm looking forward to new werewolves in the next couple of sets, but until then playing with them in booster draft is a hoot.

This and moonmist should really have their names switched.

While the Howlpack Alpha is incredibly useful, his human side is very fragile and susceptible to fast cheap removals. I don't see alot of love for the big bad green werewolves with no real abilities other than being massive meatshields. Can you really go wrong with a 8/7 werewolf trampler for 5 CMC in Krallenhorde Wantons?
If you build your ENTIRE deck around these maneaters, you can have a werewolf hit the table in human form pretty much once per turn. Fire up a Kessig Wolf Run if you don't have this card in your hand. Get your humans lined up once you have it out and throw down the Moonmist as you attack. Drop a Titanic Growth on the one that needs it. If you have a Nightfall Predator on the loose, start cleaning up some fodder before you drop the mist. Naturalize those pesky artifacts and enchantments. I even tossed a Green Sun's Zenith in to power out a Primeval Titan for some mana ramp fun.
When you swing, swing for the kill. Straight up Sabrewulf ultra ending combo type flavor.

instigator gang + this = all werewolves you control get +4/+0 when attacking and have trample. throw a howlpack alpha in the mix and watch your opponent burst into tears.

@kelble Its not the mist that's transforming the wolves, its the moon. The mist is the damage prevention, in the same vein as Fog . There are several cards that reference fog or mist that involve damage prevention.

I see a design mistake here. Looks like they had not decided yet that wolves would be part of the werewolf tribe. But in the same set, Mayor of Avabruck proves opposite...

Anyway, it's a real shame. Wolfir Silverheart, Immerwolf and the tokens provided by Mayor of Avabruck and Huntmaster of the Fells wish it said "and wolfs". This simple fact makes it bad: you won't play a card to pump/save from Ratchet Bomb only part of your deck.
