Sigh, you know you can skew your deck to benefit you more than your opponent with symmetrical cards right? Does Runeflare Trap help your opponent too? How about Molten Psyche?

This card is great because you don't have to use it when it won't help you. It's great for EDH, great for draw combo decks, it has its uses. Unlike howling mine, you get to choose when this grants card advantage, and unlike temple bell, you can do something with it when you don't want people to draw.

A super-expensive artifact that helps your opponent? Pass. If I wanted my opponent to draw cards, I'd use Jace or Prosperity.

EDIT: Whoops. Forget I said that.

It's like Temple Bell, only you can charge it up for more payoff. Play it straightforwardly for group hug, or build your deck specifically to take advantage of your opponents drawing.

Guys, this is a great card.
It's just not tournament quality, everyone who plays with this card will have loads of fun, especially if any player has proliferate.

In my EDH for the same reason as Howling Mine

I guess it's usable in a group hug deck in EDH. Apart from that, it doesn't seem to make any sense. And outside decks that can increase the number of charge counters on stuff quickly, it looks very slow too.

I'm don't really like this card so much, simply because your opponents benefit from it too(unless you're playing mill, of course).

great for mill decks... if you charge it up for a couple turns, you should have the mana to counter any cards they will get from it (blue mill w/ control, obviously).

This with tibalt's -4 could be a nice combo

I like to think of this as being great in discard. It gives you card advantage while giving opponents a hand to lose, activating Liliana's caress , megrim , and the like.

Well this is obviously good in a miracle deck, where you activate it at your opponents end step to render you a chance to hit a good miracle, and at the same time not letting the opponent use any of the non-instant cards he might have drawn.

4/5 cause it combos with my Sword of War and Peace
Damage is dealt, in response to Sword of War and Peace effect, we draw 1-3 cards; this means 1-3 more damage and 1-3 life healed

terrible. should have cost 3 at the most. at 2 cmc it is better then howling mine. at four mana it does not pass temple bell til seventh turn it has been in. and by the time it does become a threat you have made you opponents draw enough cards that they should be able to get rid of it.

I guess if you have a Miracle reliant deck, this card doubles your chances of casting cheap miracles by giving you an outlet to also draw on your opponent's turn. But in other venues, I can think of way better cards such as Howling Mine or whatever.

This card can be ridiculous in EDH. Especially with proliferation. Tap and every player draws 7 cards.
It's a fun card to play. Not meant for competitive play.

Awesome card. (Yes, you have to play it right for it to be "awesome", but that should go without saying.)

Option A: (~6 charges) Use it to keep your opponent's hand full, then combo with a card like Sudden Impact to capitalize.

Option B: (~20 charges) Use it for draw-based damage, and combo with a card like Underworld Dreams. (I love that card.)

Option C: (lotsa charges) Use it to mill, and combo it with a card like Grindclock to tip the scale in your favor.

Ramp it up fast in multiplayer with Unwinding Clock and Coretapper.

If you're worried about milling yourself, add in Wheel of Sun and Moon and enjoy the free library-searching.

In any of these cases it also helps keep your hand full, which is generally a huge plus.

It does require some thought about how it is going to be used before adding it to a deck, but that's about the only "downside" I see, and as I said, that's true with almost any card.

This is a pretty tricky and fun card in limited if your deck has the gas to support it. Tick this up to 4 or 5, fire it off on their end step, and once again on your upkeep. Bam! You've drawn 10 cards. Hopefully enough to burn him out.

Or, in long, stallish games, keep ticking this to 8-10 counters. If you ever get into a bad spot, you have a panic button that should be able to draw the game, as you both lose to empty libraries.

Oh Shimian Specter, I think I found a way to mill with you now. And control at the same time!

The only real use for this card is in a mill deck as a suspend X, mill X. If you aren't using this card to make your opponent draw the last X cards in their deck, your doing it wrong (or you're having too much fun).

I actually use this in turbofog on occaison. Surprisingly powerful card, provided you live long enough to get 3 or more charge counters on it.
