I'd rather not trade 2 Life for 2 damage, but throw some equipment on him, and sure, I'll let him beat face.

Another color-dependent artifact. I like the elegance of 2 life for 2 unblockable damage, but once you're blue, this is going to be quite good. Once you know you're drafting blue (or have some equipment to throw on this guy, in which case the life loss is a sweet deal for off-color unblockability), you could pick him like...6th-7th pick.

Perfect from my Unblockable Exalted deck. Thank goodness it's a common.

Not a bad card, and if he costed one less than he would be uncommon. Common's have to exist, you know.

Second best Souleater in a vacuum. Best when you have a steady supply of buffs. 3.5/5

Best use for this guy? Reduce your life to 1 or 2 by activating it's ability multiple times in one turn, then use Soul Conduit to switch life totals with your opponent and attack with your unblockable Souleater for the win.

@ A3Kitsume: I really like that Idea, all you need is 6 mana free, which is quite easily done XD.... Im totally using that one XD

On his own this guy is a bit week. Combined with Tezzeret, Agent of Bolas and well.......

I don't know about you guys but a 5/5 unblockable sounds good to me.

Wizards of the Coast really jumped the shark with this one. The shiny, metallic, armed shark.

Once it's dead, it makes Necrotic Ooze unblockable. It's too bad there's no way to increase Necrotic Ooze's power or to give it infect or something. Oh well.

This is just what I was looking for in my Standard Green Worldslayer deck! Predator Ooze, Young Wolf, Strangleroot Geist, and Vorapede, and this card make me unstoppable. =)

@Ragamander There are actually a lot of ways to boost Necrotic Ooze's power: Gigantomancer Feral Animist

I have a deck based on this and it works great in multiplayer. Some shit I have in there including Trespassing Souleater:

Avatar of Woe, Horeshoe Crab (for untapping whoop whoop), Lotleth Troll for counters and regeneration, Thornling for indestructibility and trample, and Myr Propagator to create copies of Necrotic Ooze. To speed up the ability gaining process I run 4 Buried Alives

And you must remember that when a creature gains an ability instances of the first name are replaced by all instances of the name of the card that gains the ability so that shit actually works!

This is a good card in any deck and if your blue then even better. The tradeoff for 2 life (yours for theirs is good). Plus he is a solid 2/2 bear for 3 mana in a set that cared about artifacts. Never sorry to get this passed to me late in a draft.

It's weird. The thing that most caught my attention about this card was the mention of the drones having "lives". It's the first card that made me think of New Phyrexia as an actual society rather than some generic evil empire thing.

I'm not a native english speaker. Amusingly, i wrongly remembered "trespassing" as "jaywalking".

The name of this card just seemed to use the most ridiculously unfitting and underwhelming adjective for something called a Souleater, out of all creatures, imaginable. In a high-fantasy setting without traffic, no less.

Just look at the thing on the artwork, passing through that wall.
I bet it didn't even look right and left before entering it. How promiscious.

Jaywalking Souleaters - because a monster with the ability of devouring a beings very soul and well-being isn't that much of a big deal until it's also crossing the street on red light. That's literally crossing the line.
They must be a bad role model for Phyrexian children everywhere.
