@John-Bender: Strange that you say that, Plague Spitter always reminded me vaguely of the "Sandcrawler" from Star Wars, the vehicle with which the Jawas collected forgotten trash in the desert.

We need more weird artwork like this, especially in black.

I like this card...not only can you drain your opponents life and kill most token decks, enchant it with Soul Link and have fun gaining more life than you lost!! HAHA!! Also, it works with Mephidross Vampire
P.S.: AWESOME art, too!! woot-entag for weird creatures!!

I love using this with a Treacherous Link on my opponents creatures. I also use a bunch of Pestilence and some Circle of Protection: Black .

Truly bizarre art, I love it. Black could stand to use some more insanity in its art.

I love that dude, not only because of the art. - Your opponent has weenies and you play this, then they are doomed. Either when this stays in play or when it dies. - If unblocked it deals a nice 3 damage each turn to your opponents. - If it's blocked it kills even 4 toughness creatures. - When it blocks it still kills 3 toughness creatures. - if you put any form of lifelink on him (best loxodon warhammer) he gains you tons of life just by sitting around, from the damage it deals to itself, each player and each other creature. - and if you really need to clear the table, play a second of these little buggers. Then they destroy each other in the next turn, dealing a total of 4 damage to everything.

Crazy artwork, they almost look like the big creatures from Nausica of the Valley of the Wind

This was the star of my very first black deck. I wish I still had it. :(

Want to clean up all the creatures in a multi player? Combine it with deathtouch, pop a Virulent Swipe just before the upkeep effect, or just keep Basilisk Collar equiped.
Also note the horrific effect Quietus Spike would have .... ;p

quietus spike requires combat damage for the life-halving trick to work
Grafted exoskeleton for a lot of fun. just make sure your opponents have more poison counters than you do, which shouldn't be hard if you are playing an infect deck or with proliferate.

i might just go and buy a playset for the art, lol, chippy should do more of this stuff, not the art for that demon (abyssal persecutor in case you missed magic for the last 2 years), which looks cool, but really this style suits black cards better, you should get shivers when you watch a black card, this is a total win !!.
and nice card also, good sideboard option in legacy against winnies.

Nasty critter, 1 of this on the field is enough to make weenie decks cry. This guy is also strong enough to smash any 4 toughness creature on offense or 3 on defense. Can kill shroud creatures such as Blurred Mongoose with ease 4.5/5

Mirrorweave on this guy with 2+ creatures out is an insta-board wipe...that may be pretty good in U/B control
Art's even creepier when you consider that those things were probably the things that spread the Phyrexian Plague that killed off a bunch of Dominarians, including poor Hanna :(

How the hell can a big bloated stinking malformed disease-ridden sack of pus be so Charismatic?
Mirrorweave to have stupidity happen. Just imagine, a bunch of potato-penguin crossbreeds pinging each other into oblivion.

For some reason I immediately thought of Salvador Dali when I saw the art. The powder blue skies, arid landscape and odd creature that looks distorted in space just screams Dali style surrealism.

To add to mangara. It: -can kill planeswalkers without attacking -can kill players when you're stuck behind a Moat or some such -has a good chance of producing immediate card advantage
He's not the end-all be-all; but he's powerful enough that I ran him with some success during my budget-Legacy stage. I still love him on casual tables simply because he mutes the board.

If you go Blue/Black/Green you can have Plague Spitter enchanted with Charisma and also take out everyone's lands - Living Plane. Fun casual insanity.
