Can be re-worded to "Creatures you control have Absorb 1".

I'm not sure about the absorb-thing... it doesn't exactly say "prevent 1 of that damage".

@A3Kitsune: Not really, no. This doesn't technically "prevent" the damage like Absorb does. If, for example, your creature was hit with Banefire (with an X of 5 or more), Lashknife Barrier will still reduce the total damage by 1, regardless of the fact that the damage can't be prevented.
It's like the difference between shuffling cards and putting cards in a random order. The action is the same, but the former is called "shuffling" so it gets special rules interactions.

A pretty decent card, due to the cantrip.

My opponet carfully schemes a plot to kill of my creatures... and them he goes: DOH! He now needs to do one extra damage to each of my creatures he wanted to murder in order for his little plan to work. I go: nah nah nah nah nah nah.
Has good synergy with Flickerwisp: protect the creature with a toughness of 1 (well, next turn) and draw an additional card (at the end of this turn).

Kind of goofy. Its like the half of Honor of the Pure that I didn't need, but I get a cantrip.

The first deck that I ever built was a midrange deck that used this plus Reckless Embermage and AEther Flash. Yeah the deck was crap, but this is actually a pretty good card considering that it replaces itself.
It's a combo piece for all the cards that repeatedly deal one damage to all creatures. Like last laugh, or pestilence. All in all I like it. It's a cantrip, so that's always neat. And it's ability is somewhat unique, and it can be used for specific powerful combos, or just randomly slapped into casual decks.

pestilence
pestilence demon
Gift this to an opponent that has Stuffy Doll out.
Pestilence (perhaps with Urza's Armor out)
There are others out there, I'm sure.
