But I think the +3/+1 one with Equip - sac an artifact is better... since that one auto-attaches the first time around.

Invisible Stalker might like this. Puts your opponent on a 4 turn clock, and that's without swords. You could even play Oculus or something to get value out of saccing.

Could serve as a decent sac engine I guess.

Guess it could be ran with Mausoleum Guard. Sac the Guard and get 2 Spirits and equip one to be a 5/3 flyer

I prefer Piston Sledge and its synergy with artifacts (wellsprings, etc) versus this and some sort of odd morbid combo.
+4/+2 Is pretty good for a standard stat boosting equipment, really, though the sacrifice makes it only usable in certain decks. however, as always, puresteel paladin is great for making equipment with drawbacks, like this, into awesomely useful stuff.

Hey, I was just concocting this card earlier this year... at +2/+2 for . Should be interesting to play with. Well-placed in a block full of Morbid cards, of course. (Edit at 3.875 with 4 votes:)
Whoa, I just realized that this is Wicked Reward! So yeah, @Silence9, this card is wicked!

So, since you technically pay costs after choosing targets, you could activate its equip ability to give the Hauberk to a creature, then sacrifice that creature to pay the equip cost.
I'm having a very difficult time understanding how that works in terms of flavor. Oh well.

With all the sacrificing and returning to the field in typical Golgari decks, this will probably see more play when Return to Ravnica rotates in.
For now, it is good in decks that rely on Morbid to be activated =)

Putting this on an Invisible Stalker is quite a threat in Limited!

Is Ragamander's comment correct? More specifically, are you allowed to pay the equip cost with the only creature you control, saccing that creature and letting the Hauberk fall off (or remain unattached)?
Also, are you allowed to pay the equip cost to attach to the creature it is already attached to?
I assume the answer to both is yes, but I couldn't find any rules clarifications anywhere specifically addressing these questions.

If the only creature I control has undying, can I sacrifice it to equip the Hauberk to itself when it comes back? In other words, does the undying trigger and bring the creature back before I have to choose a target for the equip?

Turn 4: Play Demonmail Haubrek Turn 5: Zealuos Conscrips gain control of someone like avacyn or grislebrand sac the creature you took control of and swing for 8

No.
This fails on the simple basis that when a creature leaves the battlefield, and then later returns to the battlefield, it is considered a new creature, and therefore, not the original target. By sacrificing the intended target (with Undying), it does go:
Announce Activation of Ability Name Target Pay Costs (Sacrifice)
New trigger hits the stack (undying)
Resolve Undying--> Creature Returns
Artifact looks for target- target left, and therefore is no longer valid.
Ability fizzles.

Love this card. Equip cost does not matter in decks it would be played in. In fact it is preferable. I use it in a green/black saproling/eldrazi spawn deck. I am never disappointed to draw it. Forcing my opponent to remove a saproling and retaining my artifact to beef up another is grand.
This is an underestimated card that turns late-game arbor elves into something like a permanent colossal might. Given that it's an artifact. It's likely going to be a serious pain for your opponents to remove. 5/3 reassembling skeletons are nothing to be scoffed at.

An interesting addition to a Cartel Aristocrat deck. Besides being a reliable sacrifice outlet, it can make the Aristocrat really scary.

I'd have loved this with some extra clause interacting with Demons (or non-Demons).
