I have a feeling this card will turn up a lot. Assuming you aren't even building around this it is not only is it good against combo and control decks, but if you get it early enough even aggro will have trouble going fast enough.
If you do build around it this could approach being extremely nasty. Erayo loves this card, for instance, and if you have your deck tuned to play expensive things this could easily even out the speed to be equal, with your spells being superior quality. Combined with blue for instance:
Cursed player: I play X You: counter it Cursed player: *sigh* your turn You: oh look, i drew another counterspell!
Can anyone say free turns? Find a way to get recursive countermagic to soft lock them out of the game.

Not only good for W/U Control, but with Werewolves, it's just ridiculous!
I have mix feeling about this card. Decks that utilize Arcane Laboratory and Rule of Law already have set up that would make sure the lock down would happen, but Curse of Exhaustion works wonder in multi-player, locking opponents without harming teammates.

This card is going to be amazing in my knight deck.

Should have been in green (helps werewolves, cuts white out of the curse cycle that dark ascension was pushing)
Someone at wizards admitted the mistake of misreading the G as W (no clue how THAT happened) but I cant say this isnt in white's color pie, because it is.

Commander Review: It hits only one player, so it's much weaker in multiplayer than in 1vs1. The card can range from doing nothing to slowing a player down to a hard lock, combined with cards such as forbid. If you play a white-blue control deck with a lot of counterspells, you might consider adding this, though arcane laboraty and it's copycats, while also hitting yourself, might be more useful in multiplayer. 2/5

@card Horrifically strong. If a control deck drops this on you and you don't have an answer, you might as well fold because you won't be playing Magic anymore. Well, it'll be really reminiscent of playing against Stasis/Winter Orb, which is nightmarish unless you have just the right set of cards to escape the lock and still have enough firepower to win. And if you're playing control and you get this dropped on you, it will be a problem soon enough, when your opponent starts to have enough mana to play two threats per turn. I won't even START on what would happen if your opponent Counterlashed or (in some cases) Spelljacked your one spell for the turn.
If any card in the current standard has the potential to be banned, I think this is it. Not necessarily because of power level, but because playing against it has the most potential to be unfun. After all, WotC officially hates Stasis, as well as attrition strategies (insofar as they can without totally destroying the control archetype, which would cause an outrage).
@majinara I don't think you're doing a very good job of considering the implications of cards for Commander. While Arcane Laboratory and Rule of Law DO have the larger effect in multiplayer, they also paint a huge "kill me" sign on you. Curse of Exhaustion makes you precisely ONE enemy, and no more; if you play it on a player who has been harassing all the others, other players may be grateful. Furthermore, killing you means the curse goes away, so until the partially-locked player is out of the game, your opponents have an incentive to keep you alive. Really it will come down to how political your playgroup is.

@Kryptnyt Yes, but this enchantment ensures that you are still able to cast multiple spells while your opponent cannot.

Incredible effect in control and probably the first curse you should search for if you are using curse of misfortunes

Should be fun to try out. With Fog and Clinging Mists, a TurboFog variant seems somewhat possible.

majinara must be the resident troll now that MOE seems to have vanished. This card should have the additional line "If at any point you control islands, destroy this enchantment" to make it fair. And people would still break it.

Likely the most worthy curse to be played, its a one sided Arcane Laboratory and allows you to control your opponent's pace until it destroys the enchant

{U}/{W} control is looking exceptionally strong. This card will likely see a few decks, and even more sideboards.
This plus Knowledge Pool creates a hard lock for your opponent. The first spell they cast is exiled by the knowledge pool, and this prevents them from completing the second part of knowledge pool's effect

Run bant colors with green werewolfs, this, counterspells, and poder.
If you just get your mayor out, this and sit on counters is game.

Knowledge Pool only stops them casting from their hand. Won't prevent a flashback like Ancient Grudge (which is standard) or Ray of Distortion from breaking the combo.
Grafdiggers Cage takes care of that, but now you got 3 cards you need.

Ouch. I've got a couple decks with which I might as well scoop if somebody hangs this thing on me. Not that I hate it or anything because this might make my Angel control deck a lot better than it is. Rather potent card at uncommon.
My green decks laugh at it though :o

I find it hilarious that this is Uncommon, yet it's the best curse in the set, in fact the whole block; second only to Curse Of Death's Hold.

I'll begin by qualifying myself: I play almost (completely) casual. This card in conjunction with things like Arbiter Angel and Leyline of Sanctity can pretty much shut down all decks (as if Leyline of Sanctity is really necessary if you have this and Arbiter Angel on the field).
Mind also that it does say CAST which is important. There are cards such allow you to PLAY a card without paying its mana costs etc. which bypasses the CAST restriction. No examples leap to mind but I know I've seen them.

Love this card... it REALLY should have been red or green so it can rock out with my werewolf deck, still good anyway.
now.. I do alot of FNM recently. but Im going to get alot of debate for this card.. so when I play "Curse of Exhaution" they keep giving me the bs that this card only counts for "Sorceries, Instants, and Enchantments". but this card means ALL cards that you play that arent lands... correct?

Not quite Alphagprime. Play=cast, they are both the same thing, mana cost or no man cost. The word you are looking for is "put." Example that comes to mind Genesis Wave.

My second ever standard tournament game, two matches in a row a guy hardlocked me with Knowledge Pool. Somehow, competitive play lost its allure after that...

Sometimes I don't understand R&D... They says that black shouldn't have any Miracle card just because it would seems out of color, but they made this curse, even if a course in white seems out of color as well...
"and Unsummon... you sure you want that creature?"
Pretty awesome card that I'm considering putting into an Azorus deck.

Combine with Possibility Storm will mean the enchanted player can no longer cast spells. (Their first spell each turn is exiled with Possibility Storm, then they can't choose to cast a second one)

Also, probably amazing when combined with Howling Mine/Temple Bell/Font of Mythos and Forbid. Why care about card advantage when you can counter every spell you want?
