it's a 6/4 for 7 mana. it's not a good deal--even for an artifact creature. not anymore at least. yes, it has funny flavor text. but please, don't give this a high rating merely based on that. i've never known flavor text to win duels and i doubt this will be the card to start such a trend.

fair costing card for a strong creature. Not really my cup of tea though. Timmy players will find love with other cards in green that are cheaper. Johny players wont even look at this card. And Casual players who need filler for their decks might throw 1 or 2 copies of this in just so they can play with their friends. This card is destined to only ever seen Very, very casual play with extremely new players who have a small pool of cards.

Horrible card.
Compare it to an Obsi*** Golem, and it simply loses. Yeah, it is a 6/4 vs. a 4/6, but for 1 more mana it's not worth it.
For a really sick feeling, compare it to Wurmcoil Engine?! A difference in commonality should not equal that much of a difference in power level, IMHO. Watching newbies field this drek only to die to $30 mythic rare replacements is rather depressing.

When I was starting playing Magic I thought it'd be cool to have such a powerful (6/4) artifact in game, but then I realised it's not worth the cost and there are much better cards for lesser or equal mana cost

I play it in my casual games, only because I don't like discriminating against my terrible cards. It's not Razorfield Thresher's fault that it was born overpriced. I just never put more than one of them in a deck.

I could see this working with Semblance Anvil or Heartless Summoning in a really limited format. Too bad Myr Superion fills this niche way better. If this cost 4-5 it might've been playable. 7 though...ugh, what a waste. Even for a common it could have been a 7/4 for 6 or something.

Such an awesome flavor text wasted on a terrible card.
They print bad cards intentionally to slow down power creep. But power creep is only measured by the top creatures, not the junk creatures.
One day Magic players will go on strike, demanding that wizards stops printing horrible cards. Remind us again wizards why we spent 2.99 on your booster pack?

Okay, I know that Wurmcoil Engine is a mythic and this is a common, but... come ON. Mythics shouldn't be that much better than everything else.

On other hand... Alpha Tyrranax, Molder Beast, Flameborn Hellion, Saberclaw Golem, Bleak Coven Vampires, Scrapdiver Serpent... heck, it seems like every color except white got better alternative.
