A 5/5 for artwork alone -- this thing looks freakin' EPIC

If you must choose between barbing your hellion with iron or birthing it in flames, I would suggest the latter. Especially since you can do it at common.

Dude's a beating in Limited. Don't underestimate him; he single-handedly can turn a game in your favor...

This is definitely going to replace Hellion Eruption in my Red Green Eldrazi deck.

Honestly, it's a pretty good beatstick.

I really hope Hellions get a lord and become really good one day, because they are probably the most hardcore creatures in the game.

Epic art, nice flavor text, good stats and abilities, but I think it would be better if it was 4R instead of 5R.
4/5.

@Diachronos For a common, it would be pretty aggressively costed at {4}{R}.

Ill admit, the things pretty nasty. 6 mana for a 5/4 with haste is something you cant help but put itno a red deck. The "attack each turn if able" thing is a turn around for me, however. Ive never really like those ablilites cause it breaks dwon a bit of strategy and planning that you would have otherwise. Still, i have one in my solid red deck.

I'm so glad this gave this thing haste. Otherwise, it'd of been sadly below average.

I think it's crap that people like this card at a 3+ and hate on the ironbarb hellion. They're essentially (in 90% of decks) the same fraggin card. I get this one looks WAY better, but aside from that there shouldn't be such a discrepancy.

ok i admit the art looks cool... BUT! the card is freakin' bad: a 5/4 haste for 6 mana is already quite expensive... if it has to attack each turn, it's just... (i don't wanna say something mean) worthless in constructed...? i don't like it at all but i can imagine it's ok in limited...
EDIT: I take it back. Gameplay-wise, this guy sucks in constructed. All the "attacks each turn if able" dudes suck, Tattermunge Maniac aside. Mark Rosewater isn't helping us by giving red forceful mechanics that will make cards not get played. I'd rather run Rapacious One and give it haste with Bloodthorn Taunter, which is actually a common trick I do in my Eldragon Jund deck.

The differences? Flameborn Hellion can block if it has vigilance, while Iron-Barb Hellion won't be forced to suicide into blockers.
Play this one main phase two and block with it! Rawr!
Oh, and this is a common.
