How the hell is this rated so low? Sleep was one of the most deceptively dangerous cards in M10!

Sleep! I love this card. Frost Titan has a mini one built in and Wall of Frost is kinda one too. My blue deck may be tuornament worthy (if only I could get some Bankslayer Angels though.)
If you have leyline of anticipation you can play this during their turn and totally stop their attack, not only that but majorly annoy them too.

hmm, this + the new angel from scars u tap all and attack hard then next turn u play angel wich kills all taped creatures = free full scale attack+ opponents creatures are dead =) its great combo!
You can save your creatures from Sleep simply by using any tap abilities they may have on the stack above Sleep. The abilities would then resolve first and make Sleep unable to tap the creature leaving it free to untap during your next untap step.

This thing completely destroys decks focused on monster affects... especially when you've got extras

Sorry, not true. You still must suffer the lack of untaps.
Ruling: "The second part of Sleep's effect affects all creatures the targeted player controls as Sleep resolves, not just the ones that Sleep actually caused to become tapped."
Well I'll tell ya, this works well it just about any blue deck, especially if you're playing with some heavy hitters. I play a more conservative deck, and when the moment is right, opponent's enemies are asleep, I attack, and if all was planned right, end of game.
I run this in my infect deck. Nothin like the 1 turn (not turn 1) 10 poison kill. Works great.

If my opponent uses Sleep and my creatures tap and on his next turn, can he use sleep again to make my creatures not untap during my untap phase?

Trollolol is right -- Sleep was Gideon Jura'ing before Gideon Jura was even a thing.

I like Phage the untouchable + sleep, but sunblast angel is probably easier to pull off

With Tamiyo, the Moon Sage coming out this card gets better. It both defends you and a turn later nets you cards.

Sleep is such an awesome card, and I am glad to see it coming back in M13, its really too bad that Outwit is also in standard. But leave it to one blue player to mess up another Blue player's plans, lol.

Oh and maybe lorthos and mana leaks.. or stormtide leviathan. Actually even gravitational shift could be fun there.
'Sleep well, my friend' and then you stab him in the head. Useful and lethal.
