In green decks this card can do some great heavy lifting, you get one attack through, your opponents lands are all tapped meaning no counter spells, and then use your newly untapped lands to play more creatures. First strike allows you to do that twice a turn too.

Do you mean double strike?

This card is wicked in a tokenizer deck.

My friend found a way to get infinite combat phases with this, Mage Slayer, and Hellkite Charger. It's pretty beast.

I hope he didn't beat you to many times with that combo. Nature's Will requires combat damage. Mage Slayer's activated ability doesn't deal combat damage it just does damage. But just Nature's Will and Hellkite Charger alone is infinite if you can get 1 combat damage through at all.

I'm sure you meant Double Strike, but that would also be incorrect. Under the new combat rules, once you go to deal combat damage, it's dealt immediately. So you could not cast any instants or activate any abilities between First Strike damage and normal combat damage.

As for the card, oh good lord how I came to hate this one (when I saw it on the other side). Recommended for any heavy hitting green deck.

@ Ruztyz and PrimeSonic: You are both wrong, Donovan_Fabian wins!
See, if a normal creature and a first striker both go unblocked, they will both trigger Nature's Will seporatly. You see this magical "combat damage doesn't stack" rule also makes for a inbetween step that spells and abilitys can be played. It's why you can block a 5/5 Scute Mob with an Vampire Hexmage and kill it. You let the first strike damage go through, than you have time to sac the Hexmage to remove the counters and kill the Mob before it even deals it's combat damage.

Lol. It seems like everyone is wrong about this card.
@PrimeSonic, Mage Slayer is a triggered ability, not an activated ability.

I centered one of my favorite decks around this card using primarily ninjas and their Ninjutsu ability to just ninjutsu over and over again and kill the opponent in one turn. This works especially well with Higure, the Still Wind. Swap out Ninja of the Deep Hours already on the field for Throat Slitter, make him unblockable with Higure, destroy a creature of theirs and untap all lands, ninjutsu Ninja of the Deep Hours back in, make him unblockable, deal damage and draw a card, rinse and repeat.

This with Hellkite Charger is nice, but in my opinion this with Aggravated Assault is better. You get the same infinite combat steps but it happens a fair bit earlier, although admittedly the effect on the Assault isn't tied to a big Flying creature.

Best friends with Jhessian Infiltrator and Notorious Throng in GreenBlue. Don't waste your counters on your opponent's counters, leave your mana open for counters during your opponent's turn, blah blah blah.
