zombify was 3B, this one can't be countered (outside of stifle) so that adds like G to it. 3BG you can play in any color, so about 6 mana right there. Yoy THAN get an additional 10/9 with Anaihilator 2 for practicly 3 mana... and this isn't 5/5 stars why?

@ wolfbear: and if you give it protection from all colors you could add another 6 mana, and maybe rebound you could add another 5, and flashback for another 10, and then we realize that maybe we should just use death instead which can be used on turn 2 instead of turn 50.

And that the ability triggers on cast instead of enter the battlefield is a drawback. It means that if you reanimate it it's ability won't trigger. Or if you put it into play by other effects. Or if you exile it and have it return.

The Eldrazi are, if you pay enough attention, Jund-aligned.N Their abilities fit all of the characteristics of Jund (Note: Not Of This World= Eldrazi-Style Dash Hopes)

One of the best eldrazi for sealed tournaments.

@TheTraitorKingYeah, I thought about what colors for Eldrazi EDH I should take, and discovered that there are no cards for Eldrazi in blue and white colors. Maybe just Training grounds.

During the launch party I threw my Spawnsire into a suicide attack, and apparently gave up my only offense to clear his board. I was criticized for losing the Spawnsire without making any real gain.
Next turn, I played this guy. That'll learn them to second-guess me.

@SocialExperiment: I did the same with a Hand of Emrakul at my prerelease. I sent him in for a suicide run against a bunch of first-striking leveled-up levelers with totem armor enchantments on them, even boosted him with a Might of the Masses to get rid of a few of those auras, then brought him right back out with an Artisan. Needless to say, my opponent quickly lost the game afterwards.

@Donovan_Fabian: You can't bring back Emrakul, the Aeons Torn. He gets shuffled into your library with your entire graveyard when he goes there.

Overall, this card is rockin'. He's one of the better Eldrazis, and that's saying a lot.

Love this guy, I don't know why, I opened two Hand of Emrakul, All is Dust, this and 2 Not of This World. I just found this guy more "fun" than the others.

Ouch. The tempo this guy can give you in EDH is astounding. Marvelous.

The second best Eldrazi, IMO, after Hand of Emrakul, since it is tied for the second cheapest casting cost, and answers the removal argument with inherent field advantage. Not sure if the other ones are even worth playing. I'd say run 4 of the Hands and 2 of these. While your opponent is busy dealing with the Hands you get out as early as turn 3 as well as the Broodwardens and pumped up tokens you get in the next couple of turns, you're hopefully gradually ramping up your mana. By the time you cast this guy, your opponent will probably have killed one of your Hands, or at least a Broodwarden. Also great if you happen to have a Pelakka Wurm in your graveyard.

@Donovan_Fabian
Actually, it's impossible having Emrakul in graveyard, 'cause when it enters the graveyard, it will shuffle your graveyard (including Emrakul) to your library. But anyway, you've hit a good point, Artisan can revive you a good Ulamog's Crusher etc.

I'm with a lot of my fellow commentors here, everyone is talking about the It that betrays eldrazi, but seriously has anyone looked at this card? Imagine your field just got hit by day of judgement. You play this with some eldrazi temples and maybe a left over spawn created by your awakening zone.

You return kozileks predator or emrakul's hatcher, you get a 3/3, a 10/9 with annihalator, and several eldrazi spawn. It's like you never got doj at all. That's even considering that you don't have anything exciting to bring back. Maybe you have an emrakul in your graveyard, or maybe something simpler but still scary like a drana. One of the best combos that I've seen and used so far is to mix in pelakka wurm, gaining 7 life each time it revives with the artisan, and card draw whenever it dies.

@nammertime, you can in ext. with Teferi mage of zhalfir by using the flash ability when its "When" it hits the graveyard affect is on the stack.

@smithney, ok going to say this one more time.. emrakul, ulamog, and kozilek do not have a "prevent" affect.. they still reach the graveyard, the ability that puts them back into the library is not instantaneous in the sense that it goes on the stack when this happens, if you have the mana to play a card like makeshift mannequin, or use artisan of kozilek with teferi, then you can still retrieve it from the graveyard before the graveyard shuffles to the library.

guys Donovan_Fabian is correct. emrakul's ability goes on the stack when it's sent to the graveyard, so if u do manage to cast an artisan when emrakul is sent to the graveyard, you simply put artisan's effect on top of emrakul's on the stack. you now have your artisan of kozilek and emrakul.
that said, you can also activate something like relic of progenitus on top of emrakul's ability, thus removing it (and possibly all other graveyards from the game) :D
's just a neat little trick i use against the rather gay legendary eldrazi seeing as i like playing mill often.

Compare this to ulamog's crusher: for 1 extra cmc, you get +2/+1, reanimation, and the ability to block. This may be the most mana efficient of all the big non-mythic eldrazi.

I m quite happy with myself.... I made eldrazi's kick ass in 1.5 tourney. Killed off those pesky $500 and up decks. Now don't get me wrong... it is no Rock deck...but it sure does kick ass

Find a good way to play this at instant speed, that way you can dump a legendary Eldrazi into the graveyard, the bring them to the field before the shuffle ability resolves.

I play one of these in my Valakut deck. I remember once I had 15 open mana. I was like TEE HEE
I tapped 6 to play my Primeval. He got canceled. Then I tapped 9 to play this bad boy and played him anyway. :)

Absolutely AMAZING!!! All you people bashing this, have you ever even played with it? Sure, it won't fit in every deck who's mana curve maxes at 3, but in my R/G Eldrazi Ramp deck, this is the star player, and I own an It That Betrays

@Lord_of_Omnipotence Actually, I'm fairly sure it's reanimating a Novablast Wurm!

Transmute Grozoth for this man, then cast this man to get Grozoth searching for all your 9s. I grab Inkwell Leviathan.

Too many times this thing has followed a Pathrazer of Ulamog or a Rapacious One that I only just managed to kill. Don't underestimate this thing.

This is the best Non-mythic eldrazi, IMO. annilator 2 is great, the Reanimate is PAINFUL, especially if it brings back a second eldrazi, and its very cheap eldrazi-wize too.

The crusher may be fast and common, but you know it is attak attack attack. this guy is a jack of all trades. you can Mimic vat him for mass reanimation. you can Attack for double vindicate. you can defend with a giant meatshield.

you have nothing to lose for this guy.
