This card rocks. If I didn't have religious obligations outstanding, I might worship it; Doubling Season is my god, and Sigil of the Empty Throne is her prophet! Okay, so yes, it costs five. However, pay five now, and reap a lot! In a deck with Tethered Griffins, this just might be awesome. Well, it's versatile; that's what makes it so good. It can easily go in a green/white deck with auras being used, and it can cover a blue/white deck from attacks as the control stuff is being set up.

This is an awesome card. It has quite limited possibilities but that downside is countered by the fact that it's great. Just have loads of enchantments and the army builds up.

how about some Greater Aura Mastery so that your enchantments are safe from enchant removal

Limited? This card with Verduran Enchantress (Not Argothian, it makes you draw a card with no choice, Verduran lets you choose to draw or not) and with a Verduran in play, and this, get Shimmering Wings, and draw cards and put 4/4s into play left and right. It's amazing. And if you have Fastbond, Crucible of Worlds, and Zuran Orb in play, you can generate infinite 4/4s by tapping the land for Mana, saccing it for two life, bringing it back with Crucible, and repeat with Fastbond for infinite life and Mana and 4/4s and card drawing.

How would this interact with Open The Vaults? Would it trigger when other enchantments enter the battleground, or do you have to "play" them from your hand?

DO WANT.

Considering my GW deck has 2 Ior Ruins, 2 Khalni Hearts, 2 Pacifisms...Yeah, I like this card.

Maybe I'm giving away sweet treats here, but have we forgotten the beauty of cascade? Stormcaller's Boon and Ardent Plea really make this quite tasty in an enchantment deck.

I'm running this as the kill in a mono white enchantment deck and It's working great, my favorite card to use with it is Gossamer Chains. AS far as Enchanted EveningI don't see it triggering the Sigil as it only makes permanents into enchantments not into enchantment spells as they are being cast, I think.

I totally agree with Carver. I run same kind of deck myself and Gossamer Chains works wonders with this and Mesa Enchantresses.

@Thallid_King, Nickkom
since you need to "play" an enchantment for its triggered ability it does not combo with the cards mentioned

did someone notice that in the rulings they forget the "i" in "Castng Sigil of the Empty Throne won't trigger its own ability."?

Because Oblivion ring needed to spit out a creature too

The finisher of choice for legacy enchantress decks; it is easier to use than Sacred Mesa, and does not clash with Words of War. It requires an immediate answer, and will win the game withing 2-3 turns due to how enchantress works. It is very rare that we get stuff that has so much implied synergy with an already established archetype, and in this particular case, there was zero doubt on the part of the player as to whether or not it is a good fit.

The only thing I like about this card is that it makes drawing future copies of itself relevant.

To Carver and Thallid_King:

Carver is correct. If there were a way to turn the cards in your hand into enchantments, then the enters the battlefield/comes into play effect of the Sigil would trigger. But, as it does say "whenever you play an enchantment spell", and the E. Evening only makes permanents into enchantments once they are on the battlefield, the abilities don't interact in any way.

I really wish it did, all the same. I have a {G}{W} enchantment deck in the works, and both of those mentioned cards are in it. It'd be awesome to see a shit ton of Angels hitting the field with my playing buyback instants and sorceries (if they counted as enchantments in my hand, I mean).

I'm a big fan of runed halo and although this card goes well in the same deck it's absolute poison for the opposition :P

So. Enchantress win condition, plus just straight up awesome in any deck that likes auras and beating down with said auras. Get two of these out and Rancor it up.

If there is something that enchantress decks need, its this

Enchantress decks lacked some sort of killing blow aside from recasting powerful enchantments like Rancor or Armadillo Cloak, however few creatures fit the bill in such a deck

This one allows you to keep generating tokens with Endless Wurm saccing Rancor or Brililant Halo. This gives a enchantment deck some staying power and allows for a mini overrun

However without an enchantment heavy deck, this card is underwhelming at best. 4/5

It's surprising to find a card this good for an established archetype like Enchantresses. Rancor, Flickering Ward, Gossamer Chains, Aspect of Mongoose, Spirit Loop all become playable with this out. A steady stream of creatures that is virtually unanswerable outside of removal on the Sigil itself. And at 2cc with some way to sac the enchantments, what you have is a fully charged Luminarch Ascension in this. The clever thing is to use Flickering Ward to remove your own auras, then recast them.

Already quite playable on their own, devestating in concert with this, are my favorites - Glistening Oil and Angelic Destiny. Cast Glistening Oil on something like a Genju of the Falls, or just an ordinary man-land, and it returns to your hand automatically for subsequent use. Cast Angelic Destiny on maybe one of your existing token creature, sac it, repeat for persistent 8/8 flying, first strike for 2WW.

How does this work with Zur the Enchanter? Does it count as coming into play if you use Zur's ability?

Doesn't work with Zur because this requires that you cast the enchantment. Zur just puts it onto the battlefield.

Fun with something like Shimmering Wings, which you can just bounce and cast again and again for an army of angels. A great finisher in Enchantress decks, and can quickly turn a game around.

Forced Worship combos with this for rather silly flavor. "You WILL worship my legion of angels! Genuflect, heathen!"
