This card is clearly underpowered. If you can get a 1/1 creature with exalted for cmc1, why should you pay 2 mana from a different color to get a 1/3 instead ???

Compare this with Watchwolf or Qasali Pridemage.

It seems this card has to suck just because it is blue instead of green.

I agree, also it is a 2 drop KNIGHT which means it ought to be 2/2 not 1/3 :(, the being a blue/white artifact exalted kinda benefits an esper deck...depending on your style of play.

It really depends,
I use him because he is a good 2 drop with 3 toughness, surviving early threats, because most things that early won't do more than 3 damage, and serving as a temporary wall and the exalted bonus.
He is an artifact creature providing some support in times against black.
And I have a playset of foil ones so they look cool by being in their X)

Very good 2-drop at common. On par with the blade cycle IMO. Swings as a 2/4 or pumps your attackers, and 3 toughness makes it much more durable than something at 2.

He's an exalted artifact creature... and I like the flavour text :3

To me, if this card had high Toughness it be useful, but it's not.

This is the only Artifact with Exalted just like Etherium Abomination is the only artifact with unearth. Except I think this card is great! I made a 'Less then three CMC' blue white Exalted deck to beat the crap outta my friends and their Zendikar decks. It made the semi-effective cards Stormcaller's Boon and Ardent Plea so good giving me card advantage. I did Cascade twice (once) which just kicked butt.

...wait a sec, is this Esper or Bant?

I like the flavor of this, combining esper with bant

I also like the fact that it is a 1/3 instead of a 2/2, that means if you attack with it, its a 2/4 and can survive a 3/3 blocker, or if you have many of these it gets even better, although i agree that Qasali Pridemage is better, however personally I would say that it is equal if not better than Watchwolf because i like cards that work with other cards, as apposed to vanilla creatures that just beat down your opponent

i give it 4/5

This guy + Steel of the Godhead will make your opponents sweat. On turn 3, a 3/4 gone 4/5 unblockable and lifegaining is nothing to laugh at, esp when it's strong enough to take a Lightning Bolt and resilient to Terror.

Why does everyone expect this card to be a 1/5 creature?! it's a common for god's sake!
- you shouldn't consider this over Watchwolf - because it's uncommon - and I think we all know how crazy Qasali Pridemage is. You should compare this to Grizzled Leotao instead.

Personally i like this creature - it's a large exalted body for two mana. A good play would be a first turn Akrasan Squire followed by this - remember, it's still blue/white. Also, consider it's immunity to terror and the old fear.

Yeah, I like it. It has flavor. Also two mana for a 2/4 (when attacking) and immune to fear isn't bad.

@Snaxme he's a knight from Bant only with some etherium. He must have woken up after a night out in Esper with a pounding headache and a metal arm.
4/5 for versatility and general awesomeness and yes, a huge sword

One of only a few knights I can think of without first strike.

Simple reason for relatively weak body:

White isn't for big creatures, and blue isn't for efficient creatures in the first place.

@brunsbr103:

His sword is, from what I can make of it, a long sword. These are lighter than broadswords and thinner, enabling warriors to wield them with one hand. Many used 2 hands though, because that would give them more power. The long sword also has a much longer reach than any other sword, hence the name.

This is a fine card if you're into mixing colors. Knight decks want to play mono-white almost exclusively, and Exalted can do better. This card exists to slow down power-creep. It's set, not at the bar of actually good to play, but at the bar of 'good in limited'. Designing for Limited has done worlds for keeping the power creep almost under control. Too bad Stoneforge Mystic, Jace the Mindsculptor, and Sword of Feast and Famine annihilated that idea in the space of a year. :P

Not sure why people are whining about this card - it's not insanely efficient, no, but it's a tough cheap exalted creature.

With exalted you want high toughness because you need to keep your guys alive reliably and most of them are staying home to act as blockers. This guy gets it done.

Solid on the defense, great for boosting your offense, and synergizes with Bant and Esper well. Obviously more vulnerable than a non-artifact creature, but like with the rest of Esper he's got some nice perks because of his irregularity.
Overall, a well made and highly usable common in my favorite block. Perfect for any Bant deck.

Clearly supposed to be used alongside Knight of New Alara (since all the exalted is W/U/G), making his multi-colorness an advantage and bringing him in at 3/5

Part of a cycle of two-shard creatures. List cuz I'm cool like that.

Kathari Bomber-Jund/Grixis-Goblin tokens and unearth

Etherium Abomination-Grixis/Esper-Unearth on an artifact creature

Ethercaste Knight-Esper/Bant-Artifact creature with Exalted

Sigiled Behemoth-Bant/Naya-Exalted on a creature with a power of five

Godtracker of Jund-Naya/Jund-"power 5+" ability, and dragons. I feel Gorger Wurm might have been better (Power of 5 and has devour) but Godtracker's flavor text fits the cycle.
