Cute. 3/2 flying for 3 is great by itself, and then you throw in two nice abilities. It's a good card.

Haven't gotten to play it yet, but it seems like an awesome card.

I run this is a deck with Megrim. I was accused of being a terrible person...

If it gets coutnered or delt with before you can attack, just unearth it to take another swing for 2. Brillant card. Hypnotic specter is jealous.

I run this in my Grixis deck together with Kederekt Creeper... Support it with auras such as Clout of the Dominus, Fists of the Demigod and Helm of the Ghastlord, and this guy is hell for ur opponent not to mention its 3 nice abilities...add removal spells, burn spells and discarders and this guy sends ur opponent in hell...

dont be afraid if they accused you as a terrible person with this and Megrim, im sure u r having a lot of fun seeing ur opponent suffer with this specter..

Love the Unearth/Haste ability. Unlike Hypnotic Specter, which usually gets wasted before it can do anything, this is extremely likely to eventually get a hit in and discard your opponent. The only problem is it needs 3 colors.

doomsday specter for 1 less mana, unearth ability, you don't have to return a creature to your hand, but the oppenent can choose the card he/she discards ... fine by me. this plus megrim = just a bit broken

Goodness Gracious, people. How many times does it have to be said: Megrim is BAD.

This guy here is used without any other combos in my Grix' deck; he's basically the main hitter early game, but I've still lost count of how many times this has driven my enemies insane;

4th turn: opponent takes 3 and discards a card. (^.^)

Also, the unearth, along with a Minion Reflector makes life in games against hand-reliant decks all the more fun. (for the specter's owner)

A personal fav in my Grixis deck. 3/2 flyer that makes you discard, not to mention he works great with the Unearth theme of the deck. Truly a star in my deck!

Stellar, 5/5. Overlooked because so few play Grixis, this guy is Blightning on a stick. Put him in a deck with Blightning... and now you have eight Blightnings.

Great card thinking of using him in a discard to draw deck using Compulsive Research, careful study, and reanimator with demigod of revenge. seems good to flash back cabel therapy with him after u swing for 3 and make them discard...

I run this with clout of the dominus. there is very little your opponent can do after taping out for a bloodbraid or some-such when you play a hasty 5/4 with shroud, flying, and causes them to discard a card

Goes great in Dredgevine-
Turn 1. Island, Hedron Crab
Turn 2. Marsh Flats into swamp, mill for 6, have hopefully 1 or 2 of unearthers (e.g. this and Extractor Demon) in graveyard, then play Renegade Doppelganger.
Turn 3. Fetch into land, mill for 6 more cards, unearth either this or Extractor Demon, deal either 10 flying damage or 6 flying damage and discard 2, if it connects.

This can go side by side with Viscera Dragger. unearth viscera when they have no blocker/card in hand and unearth sedraxis when they have blocker/card in hand :)

If you can play this, you probably should be doing so.

It pains me to admit this, but KrosanGardener is right. Megrim does indeed suck. I used it for years. Average amount of damage it got in a game before the opponent cast out their hand was 0-4. One time I lucked out with a Mind Twist after they played into a huge draw and whacked them for 10 damage, but that was once in years of using it. Liliana's Caress is much improved, but is hurt by sharing casting cost with Hymn to Tourach. In short, there was never a time when I was glad to draw this.

Take a close look at that art.

WOW.

This seems like a good card for self-mill assuming you can get it out of your hand if needed (Merfolk Looter!). It's a great way to negate the card disadvantage of casting a mill card on yourself (alongside Think Twice, of course - in fact it's like the opposite of it!).

I might try to run him in Pox. Both Pox and Smallpox curve in or out of this guy in a nice way while giving you a benefit for your discard; hurting the other player even more with a bit of damage on top of yet more lost cards.

This card's pretty dang sweet. It even saw Standard play in Jund, which would splash blue just for this.
