New art looks a lot like a Zenith art to me. Few things have been better in magic history than resolving one of these. Even when it's force of willed or dazed it feels like a win.
Card advantage at 2-mana, with a serious chance of screwing up plans.

Pure power. Even noobs will understand this is an amazing card at first glance.
A card that's shaken up pretty much every format it's legal in. Good choice, Wizards.

Touach's altar kind of looks like the Commander set symbol.

It's nice it's in simpler wording.
But NARFNra, which old art? Fallen Empires was retarded that way.

Honestly, I *hate* this card. Not because it's bad - it's freaking awesomely powerful in its effect - but playing online via MWS, I find many casual players who run it, and don't understand just how stupidly powerful it is. I mean, if we aren't doing anything to hold ourselves back from playing really powerful cards, are we even playing casual anymore?
Oh well; at least it isn't as bad as those playing Force of Will or vintage-only cards in casual. >.>

Such a great card, but I agree with NARFNra...I like the old art (for me, the one with the wolf background) better. Still 5/5

"Shuffle, duffle, muzzle, muff. Fista, wista, mista-cuff. Darkness beyond darkness, deeper than pitchest black. Buried beneath the flow of time... From darkness to darkness, your voice echoes in the emptiness, Unknown to death, nor known to life. You who know the gate, who are the gate, the key and guardian of the gate: I bid you open the way for him, and manifest his power before me! Tourach... Tourach!!! TOURACH"
Now, the really scary part is that, despite all of that fixing to maximize Hymn to Tourach's potential, it would do well on it's own in just about any deck, even those that do not employ such extensive discard strategies as a central theme. I've put it in / Fairies decks, zombie decks, and even / Sapproling decks. It's that good. When you have a card that can do well in just about any deck, you know it's powerful!

@Ferlord - I use 4x of the Kirschner (sp?) version, because I like the idea that my Hymn is just some dude losing at a drinking game.
As for old school discard shenanigans, T1 double ritual into this and good ol' hippy. Not too hard to do with 4 of each in the deck.

Some people wonder how an awesome card like this could be printed in a sucky set like Fallen Empires.
Well, if the two cards you're discarding are Fallen Empires cards, this doesn't seem so hot anymore :)

What a great inclusion in FtV20. I don't know what is harder to imagine: watching a legacy tournament without seeing Hymn, or the fact that this tournament-level card came from Fallen Empires.

Finally a way to have 4 different Hymn arts without having to use that Scott Kerschner one. I like this art almost as much as the Quinton Hoover art.

Since you have to pay {B}{B} for this, not {2}{B}, it's technically not strictly better than Mind Rot. *trollface*

I cannot even begin to imagine how many games have been won by this card breaking up someone's hand early on. In the decks of old Hymn ran along side hippie, ritual, necropotence, and the reset disk. Your cards were never safe, not in your hand and not on the board. The worst part was during the Black Summer people who refused to play black kept coming back for more, like an abuse victim it was this cycle of systematic beatdown followed by the player coming back saying "This time it's gonna be different, it's not you it's me."
On a different note I would really like them to introduce Tourach as a proper antagonist or perhaps the Ebon Praetor he worshiped, if a song can do this to a plansewalker just fathom what the actual villain could do. I love Liliana but I think a black walker that is or follows Tourach or the Ebon Praetor that functions as a throwback to the black summer would tickle me just right, albeit probably be incredibly over powered and cause another black summer.

I will always prefer the old art, though.
