I love the art on this card; it really makes you feel small. I would not want to encounter this denizen while on a boat...or small island.

Awsome card, but i have to send my other precious creatures to the graves but i would still like to have it in my deck...

No. no, no. Its a bad card. There are plenty of creatures that cost eight or nine mana, and are bigger than their supposed to be. But they don't force you to bounce every creature you control. Even when this guy is in play, only an idiot would consider if he/she made a good move or not. Its quite obvious that a large creature without evasion or trample with either be chumped blocked continuously or killed to removal spell. That means no more creatures for you, and easy win for the opponent. Seriously, unless theres some amazing rare combo that works with this serpent, then it belongs in the trash.

I actually think this card works well with something like Soramaro, first to dream providing you have a spell book or similar card in play. One turn you play this 11/11 monster the next you could have a pumped up flying spirit, made huge by this guy sending all those little creatures you own scuttling back to your hand :)

I made a UB deck in Shards that had a lot of small creatures with effects, a la Rotting Rats, Blister Beetle, etc. This card was used in it for when I was out of small creatures to play late game, or if I had nothing on the field. Worked decently, but I only ran 1 or 2 of it (cant remember).

Not the greatest creature, but you can find uses for it, that is if you're Johnny enough :P

SavageBrain89 is right. I consider myself a Timmy-Spike, and this card is crap in my opinion. Maybe if it had trample... But there are just so many better options! One more mana and you get Inkwell Leviathan, with NO drawbacks. Don't use this guy, really, he's not worth your time.

Entomb it and then Exhume it

He might be useful if you sneak him out with Aetherplasm, as you then get to replay creatures on your turn.
Or you could play him right after a Kederekt Leviathan.
Either way, not gonna happen if you're hardcasting him.

Man, this has Jund Vamp written all over the discussion board. Is this really what magic players are coming to?
Quest for Ula's Temple to play this bad boy in a deck that uses only Kraken, Leviathan, Octopus, or Serpents, then just drop one on your opponents turns. Great card, it just requires a combo. QQ moar about a high cost card. Or, better, yet, Belbe's Portal for the old schoolers. Come on, don't just see a high cost and cry about it. Freaking Kozilek, Butcher of Truth isn't good enough for you guys, google him if you don't know who he is.

Anyway, learn how to play a combo deck, don't just moan because it has a high cost. Or better yet, use cards that have enter/leave play effects. Admonition Angel a bunch of creatures that have "When this comes into play" abilities and drop this bad boy, the AA will go back to your hand and all your creatures will re-enter the battlefield. Can you say disgusting blue/white allies? 4/5

Sac all your Eldrazi Spawn to play him and you won't _have_ any creatures to return. RotE just made this useful.

8 mana for a vanilla 11/11 in itself is already pretty mediocre, but this also has a negative ability, making it nearly worthless. The only way you should ever play this card is if you turn its usually negative ability into a positive one and run it with a bunch of low costing cards with come into play abilities. (Ravenous Rats, Elvish Visionary, etc.) However, even in that situation I would normally much rather run Evacuation over this.

With Pandemonium and Sneak Attack in play, having two of those in your hand might be fun.

I have one in my collection specifically for the purpose of collecting. Sure, it's not the most practical card. Sure, it's unwieldy and clumsy. But it's cool. And, at least for me, that counts for something.

I really like playing this card, especially if I only have a couple of creatures out... and since I also play Doomgape in the same deck, I run the chance of getting 11 life.

Plus, use this card in conjunction with Time Stretch, and you'll have plenty of time to get most of the creatures you returned back in play.

---------rate 1 for "don't work", rate 5 for "totes works"

If I have a Bloodfire Infusion goin on, (or alternately Bloodfire Colossus), can I stitch together this, sac the critter as this resolves, and effectively kill the other side instead of my own? The stack is too complicated for my simple mind.

Forget the drawback. Forget the mana cost. All I see is an adorable 11/11.
Angry beasty ready to chew opponents in half!
Sometimes I try the little creatures out but they just don't feel the same.
Dieing from the last bop on the head from a goblin is a disrespect to my opponent. I want him to die in an epic fashion, held up in the air and dropped into waiting, drooling maws of magnificent monsters.

Drawback? I'm putting this in my for-the-lulz Clone deck. Not only is it a nice wincon if my opponent is using a creatureless or low-creature count deck, I can also bounce my copies so that I can switch them to stronger stuff my opponent got out since. 5/5 all the way.

Needs combos to work well, but why is this a Serpent? It really should be a Kraken, Leviathan, etc... and have trample.

Consider running him with things like Man-o'-war to get more usage out of their abilities next to your finisher. You've already been controlling the game this long! Now you get to reuse all of your control critters!
