@Doitpow: Deftblade elite! Is that all you could come up with! ! Phytohydra! Cho Manno!! STUFFY DOLL!!!!!! Or even your opponents Phyrexian Negator! HA!
This card and Pariah's Shield are both extraordinarily useful and variable. You can attach it to an indestructable creature so you never take damage again, or you can attack it to something like mogg maniac so you opponent takes your damage for you. Each creature XTwistedsoulX mentioned are excellent choices as well. If done right this card can screw your opponent over in multitudes of ways.

Deftblade Elite reduces combat damage only, and requires a free to use effectively. Try someone like Cho-Manno and you've got a great set up, especially considering he can't be killed with damage, unlike our Deftblade Elite. It would require a "destroy" or exile effect to remove him, such as our infamous Doom Blade or Path to Exile
Then, of course, we have the obvious Stuffy Doll, who can only be removed by exile, or have the enchantment destroyed.
Remember this will not effect loss of life such as from Exsanguinate.
At least, it will stop the damage from a single attack. You could always put this on an opponent's creature as a makeshift removal to discourage attacks. I don't think they will be attacking you if you put this on their Platinum Angel, especially if they have 0 or less life.

Choose yourself with stuffy doll and then drop this on it, infinite loop when you tap it. Then add Lifelink, and you got yourself infinite life.
But a much more solid combo, stuffy doll plus Guilty Conscience. Results in one shot to target opponent.
Maybe in mutliplayer you would rather go for infinite life, or maybe even go for both.

Always wanted to see a cheaper Pariah that can only be played on opponent's creatures. It's amazing removal, but that pales in comparison to its prevent all damage combos.
