Perfection, in Dimir form. Seriously, as long as there is at least one large creature in your graveyard, it can mean disaster for the opponent. Inkwell Leviathan, Dread, Simic Sky Swallower, any massive creature that has shroud or amazing abilities will justify the use of this card, especially if you play a mechanic that discards huge creatures early in the game.

Perfect in mill decks! Put creatures from their library into their graveyard and copy the strongest, mill more, copy a stronger one. So much fun :D

I'm a blue/black Dimir fanatic, even read the books (which rock! :D) and this creature is especially evil when it allows you to avoid bad "enters the battlefield-abilities"...!^^

Also fun to use when you suddenly put something in your graveyard you could turn the Doppelganger into spontaneously to block or attack with it!

Hehehe... :D

I wonder if I do this with phage the untouchable will I lose?

@Mana: I believe not since Phage isn't actually coming into play. Dimir Doppleganger just becomes a copy of her. Meaning that since she was already on the BF, the lose game ability is null and void.

Blue/black is so flilthy it isn't even funny. Play Mind Funeral and then hit them with this thing. Take your pick of their best creature.

What if I would make doppelganger an unblockable creature first (like phanthom warrior/dimir infiltrator) and then make it a Phage. Would Phage be unblockable?....

@SFisscher
No. But if you use turn her into a copy of Phage after blocking has been decleared but befor damage is dealt, that would achive the same results.

Awesome creature. Justifiable as graveyard hate in any blue-black edh format deck, and so so fun and versatile. 5/5

This has to be one of the most disgustingly underhanded tricks in the entire game. Needless to say, I was thrilled when I opened mine.

This was the first rare I ever pulled out of a booster pack. 5/5 for just that.

You can copy Dread with this. Because Dread (like the Eldrazi brothers) says "When this creature is put into a graveyard" and not "If this creature would be put into a graveyard." you can do things in response to their graveyard trigger. Like exil them with Dimir Doppelganger or exile the graveyard with a crypt or a spellbomb to still get rid of them.

"Ohhhh, you think you're safe from my mill because you have one of the big three Eldrazi?"
"Yes."
"You mean the one that I just milled into your graveyard?"
"Yes."
"You mean the one that's now been exiled and I have a copy of?"
"............Yes."

This looks really sweet used after Life's Finale...

Anyway, it's nice addition for mill decks, but I find it way better in non-milling control decks just for one simple reason - mill decks tend to destroy your library, not your life, so even if you're likely to have great supply of targets to copy, it's not usefull to full degree unless you copy a solid defender or creature capable of milling (so you have to fight another milling deck). On the other hand, UB control decks always kill or counter creatures, so you're likely to have tasty target as well and you can have more usage for it. It's nice addition for both control and mill decks, but common control deck can take more advatage of this card.

They better bring this back in Return to Ravnica so that I can use my Evil Twins with it. :I

This is exactly what my B/U mill deck needed. It kept getting completely owned whenever any sort of reanimator strategy comes into play. Well, this is basically anti-reanimator on demand, and in the exact colors that need it.

It's beautiful that this guy can turn into Phage the Untouchable without losing the game. Entomb Phage, then this guy, then use his ability, and you have yourself a Phage in a couple of turns for no more than 3-4 mana per turn. And then, since you have blue, Artful Dodge.

Actually, quite fun with Mimeoplasm. Why get locked into your first choice of hulking grave born monstrosity when you can continually update as you see fit.

Useful for exiling pesky persist/undying creatures before they return, or stopping Eldrazi Titans from escaping the 'yard.

Or, better yet, copying your own Eldrazi after milling it.

Very fun when you turn it into a Chromanticore on turn 4
