This is cool. REALLY cool. Mindleech Mass had a fantastic effect but was expensive and highly telegraphed. This fixes both of these. My problem with is many peoples': it isn't legendary. There are no legendary blue-black Ninjas to use as a general. Yes, the blue-black legend from this guy's precon is a far more practical general. Yes, Ninjutsu doesn't work from the command zone (it would be up for quickest house rule of all time if this WAS legendary though). But playing a Ninja deck isn't practical. It's fun. More fun, now.

My casual group consists entirely of people that qualify as Timmy/Johnnies. This guy will be hijacking a lot of huge expensive creatures that didn't get cheated out quickly enough, and huge expensive spells that didn't get ramped into quickly enough. Good times on the horizon.

What's the problem with it not being legendary? That only means you can Ninjutsu in a Sakashima's Student, then Ninjutsu in this guy. Silent Blade's Ninjutsu activates first, then the Student's. Two demon ninjas coming in through the window to steal your opponent's spells.

And here I thought that Higure, the Still Wind and Ink-Eyes, Servant of Oni were powerful. They still are, but they are also legendary, whereas Mr. Silent-Blade Oni isn't. Easily the most badass of all the Ninjas in Magic.

Now, with Silent-Blade Oni, when he does combat damage the controler can choose a non land card out of the players hand and cast it without paying its mana cost. Now if its a spell that can target something i.e. Giant Growth, the controler of Silent-Blade Oni can choose the target for that spell. What about if the controler chooses a creature? Would that creature go on to the battle field under its controlers control or under Silent-Blade Oni controlers side? Semantics!!!!

I also wonder why this isn't also a spirit. I guess it may be because it has given up its kami essence or something, allowing it to be more solid and persist in the physical world? If it had been a "Demon Spirit Ninja", it would have been a perfect card.

I couldn't find room for this guy in my 60-card ninja deck, but he's a beast in EDH.
I've never actually cast an opponent's spell though. Every time I ninjutsu him, if they can't kill him before combat damage they concede immediately.
But then again, while casting other people's spells is my single favorite ability and it's a shame to miss a chance to do so, I suppose there are worse things to say than "This card makes me win more quickly than I want to."

If you're splashing black, this is the least color intensive demon (sort of) with Ninjitsu. I'm putting him in my blue/black 187 control deck. For only a single black mana I can get him out, which is much easier than 2 for a splash.
Note: I'm putting him in because I run demons in *all* decks of mine that have black in them.

@pilcher: unfortunately, no. Ink-Eyes' master is Kuro, Pitlord, it says so in her background story.
Usability aside, this card oozes flavour for me. I mean f-me, a demon ninja. Art is awesome. Surprise aggro awesomeness. Makes me want to make a deck around him.
