Natural Spring at 4X would = 8 life, versus 4 life for this.

I don't see why this card is rated so low. Maybe it's the Timmy in me talking, but this is, and always has been, the most basic life gain spell in the game, and one of the best. Yes, there are more aggressively costed life gain spells for lower amounts of life (Whitesun's Passage, Nourish, Natural Spring) but they're not really comparable, because this is best used in different situations. You may play a Nourish in your first couple turns, then bust out the Stream of Life late-game, when you have a ton of mana, or use it with Joraga Treespeaker, for instance, or any infinite mana combo. Obviously, in the right situation, this card has far more potential than most life gain spells.

That said, strictly worse than Dawnglow Infusion

Simple. I like simple.

This can be better than Dawnglow Infusion, if you have means of copying spells, or if for some reason you want to give another player life (multiplayer politics). So Dawnglow isn't strictly better. It's pretty close, though.

Oh, and Taste of Paradise is another one that's usually more efficient.

NOT strictly worse than Dawnglow Infusion, Infusion sets off any effects that playing a white spell causes/is vulnerable to anything that targets white spells, which can be bad in certain circumstances. However, for almost all purposes, the infusion is better.

A flavorful, flexible and nostalgic card. It is pretty amazing that the "X" mechanic made it into Alpha.
If you need life gain in green, chances are Essence Warden and Obstinate Baloth will serve you better.

I feel like its saving grace is the ability to give x life to anyone, Boosts your Kavu Predator or punishes them with False Cure, in addition to being able to heal you if need be.

Meh. I suppose they were going for a mirror of Fireball. Bleh. Obviously, lifegain isn't something to turn into the whole point of a card (though with Necro this is close to a cheaper Braingeyser if you're playing Vintage and for some reason not playing blue; also, that's the least interesting thing you can do with Necro).

I like the artwork, though. Nice Rodin reference.

I feel like running this card just so one day somebody fireballs me and I respond with this for the exact same amount. Who says you can't play counters in green?
