Maro (Also MaRo) is the nickname for longtime Magic: The Gathering card designer Mark Rosewater. The truncated version of his name is both a card and a common shorthand around the Magic playing community. "Maro" cards reference the number of cards in players' hands and grow more powerful the more there are. From Wikipedia

Ironically, four printings of this card have the same artwork.

I was just reading an article about this card, and I had to check it out. Man, wouldn't it be awesome to be able to help design cards and work with R&D! I love Magic, and I'm so thankful that Garfield went to have lunch or dinner with that man that proposed this idea to him seventeen years ago!
The cheapest maro-esk card i've found so far, if you discount alternative costs like Allosaurus Rider.

Wow, can I work in R&D and satisfy my ego as much as Mark Rosewater clearly has done over the years?

Should've been printed with four different artworks for purpose of flavor. Normally I'm against that sort of thing, but I'm willing to make an exception when it makes sense (as in Brothers Yamazaki)

All the artworks may look the same, but the person next to you looks into the art box and sees something completely different than you see. For example, I see a leafy jester waving his arms in a gyrating circle. You might see a face among leaves with weird sticks in his mouth. That's just an educated guess based on your performance in last years human aptitude screening. Oh, and you didn't do so well. I'd suggest you try taking supplemental vitamins.

Drop this early, with the help of birds. Hold instant speed draws and stack your deck with counters. Proceed to beat-down their faces.

The only reasons I can think of why no two see the same Mark Rosewater are Sakashima and Mirror Gallery. Both are from Kamigawa...
And the article about this card was dumb, too. This card isn't really about "growing" because hand size don't generally grow over time. Rather, it decreases.
