Yes, Simic Guildmage does funtion better than the Autumn-Tail, but the Autumn-Tail gives white decks access to aura transfering.

Well, yes and no, simic guildmage IS better as an overall transfer affect, but kitsune mystic has a unique advantage. The kitsune mystic ability does -not- specify that it has to be -your- creature. You can steal enchantments from your opponent. More over, this is an important difference for cards like coma veil, because you can place it on a new target once a turn, or pacifism. However, it is harder to get your kitsune flipped in the first place, although if you have a deck with pacifism in it you can still enchant your kitsune with it and then move it after its flipped with the ability. Also many people don't think about the fact that its ability does not require the kitsune to tap, and when its flipped its a 4/5 creature who can do some heavy lifting.

Not bad. Mostly outclassed by simic guildmage, but still useful.

Goes great with Umbra Mystic. The two may be lovers.

@A3Kitsune: Kitsune Mystic seems to have a serious case of split personality though, so it might not work out.

He gets around shroud!

@niceguygreensboro: How does he get around shroud? If a creature has shroud, you cannot move an enchantment to it as far as I'm aware of. Even though this card doesn't say "Target Creature", you're still targeting a creature by placing an enchantment on it, or taking one off of it.

@Coyotemoon722, the ability doesn't specifically target any of the creatures, only the enchantment, so it can get around shroud, the same way stonehewer giant can get around shroud.

no, simic guildmage is in the long run not better whatsoever. 1. this happens at instant speed. 2. this ignores shroud 3. this is a beefier critter 4. and this is cheaper.
I like flip cards, but after seeing this card I guess I knew less about Kamigawa block than I thought. I was under the impression that all of them flipped into Enchantments. That's what's great about this game, so many cards I still run into cool stuff I didn't already know about.
Yes, I will take your Blanchwood Armor. Oh, you thought your Curse of Chains would stop my attacker? Not after dropping him and getting it flipped.

I have two of these right now in my WG enchantment deck. Even with the small selection of enchantments that i have, this card makes them waaaay overpowered. I've been thinking about using them in a token abusing critter deck (maybe eldrazi spawn), and throwing everything on whatever is unblocked.

I think this is better than Simic Guildmage. Not only is the body bigger but it also gets bigger when it flips. You could place two Prison Terms on this baby to get it to flip and then move the Auras to the opponent's creatures. Maybe even those Vow auras, the ones that give a p/t boost but make it so the enchanted creature can't attack the owner of the aura or a planeswalker he controls.
This is strictly better.

@Donovan_Fabian: Simic Guildmage moves Pacifism and Coma Veil around just fine. The initial and final target permanents must be controlled by the same player. This guy can steal their enchantments though, and that's cool. The Guildmage can move the enchantments on their lands. @coyotemoon: You are wrong. Enchantments can be attached to permanents with shroud. Auras only target when they are cast, but if put on the battlefield they must attach to a legal permanent (without targeting it). If no such permanent exists, they don't leave whatever zone they were previously in.

@wholelottalove If you put even one prison term on him, you wouldn't be able to use his activated ability to get it off of him.
Question: Would one be able to use archery training multiple times if you had multiple creatures to move it onto during the combat phase?

I really love this kind of card, both the flip aspect and the enchantment moving are interesting to build around without being overly powerful. It also changes the rules of the game and the style of game play but without the total chaos of red spells.
Note that while this lets you enchant creatures with shroud, if the creature has protection from white or protection from enchantments or any other relevant protection (wordy perhaps) the enchantment will fall off and go to the graveyard.
Also note the if the enchantment has shroud this can't move it.
